Lunch and a show

We were going to clean our carpets today but it was so humid the carpet would have taken days to dry.  Too cool to turn on the AC.  So we went to lunch at Olive Garden and then to the new snow "Fast and Furious (six)" with Vin Diesel and Duane Johnson.  Was good, perhaps a little too much fighting and racing.

Later in the evening we watched at home the show "Zero Dark Thirty", a good show and suppose to be mostly true.  We had some thunder before bed time and more in the night.

Dinner

Daughter Brenda and family took us out to dinner this evening at Paneras.  We participated in a lot of good conservation.

Grandson Josh was confirmed this evening.  We didn't go as space was limited.  Congratulations to him.

Memorial Day

Another dark and dreary day.  The highlight was going to our daughter Sheila's home for their good boiled dinner prepared by her husband.  Getting together is always a treat.

Wash Out

It looks like Memorial Day weekend will be a total wash-out.  Rain every day and cool temps.  The RV park we are in is full of folks just wanting to get together with friends and family for a picnic or bonfire - good luck!  About 6-8 people across from us tried to grill their dinner, they had on heavy coats and were huddled around the grill holding their plates and trying to eat.  You have to do what you have to do!  We have mostly just stayed inside, went out for breakfast today and that is it.

Another eekie day

We stayed home until late afternoon when we went out for a little shopping and to drop off some clothing at a welfare place.  We ate dinner at our favorite Chinese place and a friend I hadn't seen for over 11 years walked in.  It was good to see her and catch up (as much as you can in the middle of a restaurant) .

Sun

The sun is really still there, we had a nice day with sun today.  This evening we ate at Pablo's, our favorite Mexican Restaurant.  It is a home town place, not a chain and very good.

We have a full moon tonight!

What a gray day!

It is cold, wet and gray out.  Sure could use some sun!

Sign of spring to come, we hope!

Should not complain about rain

After the destruction in Oklahoma, no one should complain about a little rain.  So what if it changes plans or gets humid, we still have our lives and homes.  The tornado of yesterday changed countless lives, we pray for them.

This was a school until suddenly yesterday afternoon

More rain again!

Again we had more rain today, this evening the weatherman said we have gotten around 3.5 inches of rain in the last three days - more than last August, September and October combined.  On the plus side, everything is green.

We went to our grandson's 8th grade band concert this evening.  They did a great job.

More rain!

There must of been at least another inch of rain today.  This time with some storm warnings but no storms here.  Wish we could send this rain to places where it is badly needled.

We went to IHOP for breakfast and then planned to stay home the rest of the day.  Looked like it was going to rain at dinner time so decided not to grill.  We went out and got salads for dinner.  It is now mega humid, we are running the air conditioners just to take out the humidity.

Rain!

There was about 2 inches of rain this morning, it really came down hard for awhile.  We had some thunder and lighting but no bad storms. 

The RV park had their big spring opening today.  They had a nice lunch of hamburgers  brats or hot dogs as well as Caesar salad, pasta salad and fresh fruit salad.  The fruit salad was exceptional - there was every kind of fruit and berrys.  They gave us a tote bag with some gifts inside and a lantern with a battery candle inside.    A lot of people came for the food!  We ate a Paneras for dinner.

I am feeling better but tired tonight.

Doing better

I feel better today but have a very sore shoulder/neck and my mouth is sore, could hardly brush my teeth.  Daughters and granddaughters came over for a visit this evening otherwise it was a long cold rainy day.

Surgery Day

At last the day came and the surgery is over.  I am fine, a little drugged and just want to sleep.  All went well.

A three meals out day!

We ate breakfast at Little Six, great French Toast!  Then went to the nearby convenience store for brats for lunch - a brat, chips and drink for $1.50.  Dinner was hamburgers at Culvers.  After breakfast we went to CVS and Cub Foods.  We weren't suppose to get any rain today but had a good rain anyway this morning, got warm in the afternoon, around 80.  Yesterday the temp set records at 95, our air conditioner ran a lot!  The trees are really leafing out and the allergies are high.  We noticed gas had gone up around 30 cents this afternoon to $4.09 a gal.  Why????

Mothers Day 2013

We went out to brunch with our daughters and their families.  We had a good breakfast and great visiting.  They were more than generous with gifts to me - from my favorite lemon bars to a cute shirt, Amazon gift card and much more.  We had a fine time and celebrated the day in proper style.

Visit from South Dakota family

Lisa and Bill visited us today, we had lunch with them as well as our two daughters and their families.  Lisa and Bill are in Minneapolis for Bill's brothers retirement party.  We had a great visit, brought them to our motorhome for more visiting and to show them the huge Mystic Lake casino complex.  So good to see them.

Shopping and eating

We went shopping this morning mostly for groceries.  We don't eat at home much so why do we always need groceries?

We ate dinner at "TGI Fridays", had their Jack Daniels steak and shrimp scampi.  The shrimp was great - butterfly-ed and grilled with a garlic tomato sauce on top.

Last of my doctor appointments

At least I hope it is the last for now.  I went to the eye doctor today,  all is well no new glasses or contacts  needed.   Afterwards we went to Kohls and Target and had lunch at McDonald's.  In the evening  we ate dinner at Little Six Casino.  It was  prime rib night-was good as always. A long time since we had prime rib!

Rebecca's birthday

We helped celebrate granddaughter Rebecca's 16th birthday today.  We had dinner with her family at a pizza place.  Hard to believe she could by 16 already.  She has driving a car on her mind!

A nicer day!

We went to lunch with our daughter and two grandsons.  She was taking them to lunch to celebrate their great report cards!  We had a good visit and enjoyed the time.  Later we went to Panera for dinner.

The weather is improving!

Cold and snow

I had my pre-surgery physical today and passed with flying colors!  We then went out for breakfast a IHOP and did a little shopping.  We were gone from the motorhome for about four hours.  When we got back the temperature was in the 40's.  There was snow on and around the motorhome.  It took us most of the afternoon to get the temp up to 70.  This winter thing in May has got to stop!

Happy May Day! (and snow day)

It is hard to believe it is snowing on May 1!  It is also cold, around 36 degrees.  It makes it hard to keep the motorhome warm.  We were gone most of the morning to a doctor appointment and then grocery shopping.  When we came home it was 53 degrees in the motorhome, this afternoon it is 70 degrees which is about the most we can expect.
