Dinner at daughter's

We had dinner at daughter Sheila's home.  Good cabbage and corn beef and as always great visiting.  It has turned cold here, had the heat running all day.  I used a new fudge recipe today to take some along for dessert:

1 - 12oz bag chocolate chips, microwave 30 seconds to start melting
1 - can chocolate frosting, mix with chocolate chips and microwave 3 minutes

Pour into 9 X 9 greased pan and cool.  Mine were a bit gooey when cool so I put them in the refrigerator and then they were fine.

I had trouble getting the chips to melt (I used a name brand), so had to MW them longer.  Think I will use mini chips next time.

Sunday

Our usual Sunday - breakfast at Cracker Barrow and then a stop at Menards and CVS.  We have another beautiful day and are enjoying the weather while we can as forecast is for rain and cooler ahead.  The weather in Florida is horrible - hot and humid, rain all the time.  It had better get better very soon!

A 10 Saturday

Another "10" day.  Had the air conditioner on from noon on.  The leaves are turning color fast now while some trees remain green.  The little tree by our Motorhome was green last Monday and now has lost most of it's leaves.

We ate dinner at Pablo's, our favorite Mexican place.  Always good.

Sunny Friday

We had dinner at our favorite Chinese - Hong Wong.  Then walked it off going to Mendard's Home Store and the Kohls.  Had to return a shirt I bought Don and so of course checked out the big sale items and found a shirt and pants.  The pants were $48 and I got them for $4.  Strange how something perfectly good will not be sold and will just be waiting for me.

Dinner with daughter

Another nice day!  We had dinner with daughter Brenda and granddaughter Rebecca.  Was good to visit with them and catch up on their lives!

Fabulous Sunday

A beautiful day after the storm.  We went out for breakfast and picked up a few groceries.  We got some wonderful corn-on-the-cob for dinner - fresh from the field.

Just as we finished eating dinner we saw some friends we had worked with at the campground in the Black Hills walk by.  We invited them inside and had a nice long visit with them.  They caught us up on the last couple of months at Happy Holiday.  They also will be heading for Florida.

Dinner with daughter

Nice day until early evening when a storm rolled through.  We were eating dinner with our daughter and family so were not at the motorhome.  When we got back it looked like there had been a lot of wind - leaves everywhere.  Our MH was fine but the satellite was a bit off kilter.

We ate at Red Robin, it was crowded and we had to wait awhile but all worked out.  The food was good and the conversation better.

There was an ad for a drink similar to this - bacon, chocolate, whiskey shake.  I like them all separately but together just doesn't sound good.

RV Show

How often does an RV show happen across the street from your campground????  We even got in for free.  They had mostly 5th Wheel Trailers, a couple big MH's, some Class C's and lots of B Vans.  Fun to look at what is new in the RV world!

Morning of shopping

Finally we got out!  We had breakfast out - waffles!  Then we went to Menards and Walmart.  Good to get out and see something besides the RV Park.

Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday

Boring, stay at home days.  We did things around the motorhome, ate at home for a change.

A cool, but nice day.  Good to see the sun!

We went to Cracker Barrow for breakfast and home again - forgot to return our rented DVD.  So later we went to get a couple groceries and returned the DVD.  We saw Need for Speed, so so movie.

Brenda was going to come for a visit but instead went to the doctor.  She has a styi in her eye.  Hope she gets better soon.

We fixed salmon for dinner with a big salad, corn on the cob, more tomatoes and cucumbers.

Saturday at Dakotah Meadows

Sheila along with Zach and Bri came over this afternoon with a sack of vegetables including an egg plant and a cantaloupe.  We will enjoy all.  They stayed for a visit.

We went to Chill's for dinner which was good with good service (if not a little over bearing - Don said "if they guy could not say "awesome" he would be speechless."

Move back to Mystic

Our two week "vacation" at Lebanon Hills County Park is over and we moved back to Mystic Lake Casino's Dakotah Meadows RV Park.  It is always nice here.  A cool day but no rain.  We had a electrical problem again, transfer switch we think - has happened before so need to look into the fix.  Finally got electric in the MH.

My cold has taken a turn for the worse, slight fever today - just when I have a lot to do and need all my energy.

Third time is dinner

We decided to go the our favorite Chinese Buffet tonight, our last night in the area.  We found out they just have a buffet on weekends.  So we decided to go to the rib place.  We used to get a dinner for 11.99 - it is now 16.99.  I know meat prices have gone up but this is crazy.  So we went to Out Back Steakhouse and had steak with all the shrimp you can eat.  Was a good meal, finally.

The weather has turned cool and still some rain on and off.  Heard Custer SD, where we have friends, got 8 inches of snow!!!

Remembering 9/11

Cold (I'm not cold, I have one)

Suffering enough?  yes I am

All plugged up, can hardly breath and hurt all over.  Nothing helps.  I hate colds.  I know I will recover, lets just hope it is soon.

Then there is the weather.  It has turned from nice to nasty.  No sun and top humidity.

A "10" day!

A "10" day was forecast so we decided it would be fun to have a family picnic here at our campsite.  The Peicks all had plans but we did get four of the Dennis' and dog Lexi, one had a birthday party to attend.  We had a good visit and it was great to enjoy the nice weather before it changes this coming week.  Lexi showed the yipping dogs next door how to behave, she is such a fine animal.  

Don is on the end of his cold but darn, I seem to be getting sick.  I hate colds.

Crying day at Walmart

We went for groceries at Walmart and I'm almost sure every kid (and there were plenty) under the age of 5 was crying or screaming or otherwise causing a scene.  The parents were doing nothing to quiet the little "darlings" down to make it worse.  The "darlings" seemed to be everywhere I wanted to be in the store.  I just wanted to get my groceries and get out BUT NO, 20 +/- cash registers and 3 were open with people lined up way back.  What price we pay to save a few bucks!

It was starting to rain so we went home and then in the afternoon took the stuff we have cleaned out of the place to charity.  Then it started to storm, lightning, thunder, rain.  We made a very quick stop at a farmer's market and went home and stayed home.

About 9 PM someone decided to back into the site next to us with plenty of noise.  We wondered if they were going to carry on into our bed time but then it started to rain so there was a damper on the activities.

We lost another great comedian, Joan Rivers.  We saw her live way back in 1972, sat right by the stage.  She was great even if a bit "blue".

Labor Day

The Dennis' invited us to their good "shrimp boil" dinner.  It was very good as always as well as entertainment from the kids and dog.  Was a good and fun time.

We are enjoying the beautiful weather after lots of rain last night.
