It's a cold.

I finally decided that I have a cold, not allergies.  I took a couple Nitequal pills last night, should have taken only one as they really hit me.  When they wore off about 4 AM I was wide awake.  Didn't want to take any more that close to time to get up.  I took Dayquil in the morning, just one pill this time and it seemed to help, my supply expired March 2014 but still seem to work.  Hope this is a short cold.

We have a hot and humid day, AC turned on at noon.

Feeling even worse in the evening.  Didn't feel like fixing dinner so went to the new Taco Bells south of us.   Took more pills and zoned out.

Allergies

After mid 70's temperatures all weekend it has now turned hot and forecast to hit near 90 mid week.

I had a major allergy attach last night, many sneezes, runny nose and for some reason about 4AM my knees started hurting.  I took some ibuprofen but still I couldn't lay one place for more than 15 minutes.  They seem OK to day.

Cleaning day for the motorhome, I polished the chrome refrigerator and it sure looks nice without all the fingerprints.  We ate dinner at home.

San Antonio (Florida)

We went to San Antonio (Florida) for breakfast.  Today is the Daytona 500 races and many people go south on the Interstate Highway and cut across the state at the intersection we usually go for breakfast and stop for breakfast.  So we decided to go further south, we like to go there occasionally anyway.  Well, that place was busy, think we got the last table.  People waiting all over the place when we left and a parking lot full of motorhomes.

Came home to start reading the two Sunday newspapers we get, finished in the afternoon.  Later we grilled smoked pork chops for dinner and had some of the pie and wine we bought yesterday.  I talked to our daughters, their forecast big snowstorm never happened.

Pancakes and politics, don't mix

Again this Saturday Don helped with breakfast at the clubhouse.  I went over to eat, not many people there but good pancakes.  It was so humid it is misting outside.  We got into a political discussion at the table.  One husband was told to change the subject or his wife was leaving!

We went for dinner at Captain D's at Dade City.  Nice day for a drive.

Taco Salads, pie and wine

We had a nice day going but got to be hot and humid later.  We had the air conditioner on from noon on,  Don checked the motorhome batteries.  Says we might have a peskie battery.  He rinsed them off and got rust on your concrete patio, now he had a power wash job.

We did a scenic tour to Wildwood and ate at Steak and Shake, we both had Taco Salads and malts.  It was happy hour for malts, half price.  Came home via Winn Dixie and stopped for one of their great pies (got strawberry rhubarb this time) and a bottle of wine.

Walmart AGAIN

Back to sun, then clouds, etc.  We went to McDonald's for breakfast and then to Walmart for some groceries.  Came home and went to the clubhouse for 10:00 Coffee.  Unusual to day as the men and women sat together.  Don left early, think he had enough of our women's chit, chat.  Can't get into anything too heavy with the men around!

We went to the clubhouse for dinner which was very good.

2/22 rain rain rain

Rain all day.  It had started raining before we got up and kept it up all day.  We must have gotten quite a bit of rain but had to tell with our sandy soil that quickly absorbs moisture.  We stayed home, I stayed inside, Don went out a couple times.

We had hot beef sandwiches on toast for dinner.  My back is better but still have to take ibuprofen and have heat on my back most of the time.

Ocala, Wildwood and Zaxby's

Today it is cloudy for awhile, then sun, then clouds, etc.  Getting ready for the big rain tomorrow.  Went to coffee today even though my back hurt, we women covered a lot of ground from politics, charge card fraud, health, motorhome remoulding, etc.

In the afternoon we went to Camping World near Ocala.  We wanted to look at their furniture.  They have a couple of chairs that would work to replace our uncomfortable sofa in the motorhome.  Don was ready to buy them but I want to look around more, I'm not 100% on those chairs.

We stopped in Wildwood for dinner at Zaxby's. (A chicken wing place.)  It is a just opened store, the food was very good.  We had been disappointed in the food at the Zaxby's in Alabama.  We had "Wings and Things", couldn't eat it all and brought some home.

Brenda's birthday!

I woke up with a very sore back, must have slept wrong.  Hurt all day even with ibuprofen and heat.  I skipped coffee at the clubhouse as I don't like to moan and grone in front of other people.  We did get the house cleaned, I was slow but got it done.

We had leftovers for dinner.  My back hurt extremely bad after dinner but finally calmed down.

It's our daughter's birthday today!!!

Waffles, newspapers and chops

Out for breakfast as usual on Sunday.  We went to Waffle House, we had to wait a few minutes for a table.  Their Pecan Waffles are to die for!

Read the newspapers - we get two Sunday papers.  Took a nap.  By then it was hot enough (for me at least) to turn on the air conditioner.  We grilled pork chops for dinner and had corn-on-the-cob with a big salad with the vegetables and tomato we got last week at the farm.

Muffins and pizza

Again Don helped with the breakfast at the clubhouse, it was really good this morning with an egg casserole dish and homemade cranberry muffins.  I got the receipe for both.

Another cool morning, I like the cool nights - sleep better, even better than with the air conditioner on.

We went to Monticello's for their excellent pizza.  It really got busy before we left, some other people from our park were there.

Florida Winter

Today we went to McDonalds for breakfast and then to WalMart and Winn Dixie for groceries.  Don't know why we need so many groceries when we eat out most of the time.

The weather is really nice today.  Our one nice day, it will get hot, then storm, get cold and then we will have one nice day.  It got down to 36 degrees last night, colder than forecast.

We fixed the eggplant we purchased at Parksdale Farms for dinner.  Had a huge salad as well with all the fresh vegetables.

Meatloaf Thursday

Bright sun today but cool, low humidity.  We went to coffee at the clubhouse, a good crowd today!

Dinner was at the clubhouse and good as always with meatloaf.+

To Tampa and beyond

A cooler but humid day, the wind picked up and it rained some.  A big branch came down in our yard but thankfully didn't hit any of our things.

We went to Tampa.  Had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes and then went to Camping World.  We looked at their furniture to replace our uncomfortable sofa.  Maybe someday!  They have great popcorn so we each had a bag even though we were not hungry.

Then we went to Parksdale Farms for fresh fruit and vegetables.  The strawberries are in now and good and beautiful.  We stopped by CVS for a few things before heading home.

Had some leftovers for dinner.

Valentine's Day

A nice day but the heat is still on outside!

We went to coffee at the clubhouse.  In the late afternoon we went to Outback Steak House for a Valentine's dinner.  We were seated right away but when we left people were all over the place waiting for a table.

We had their Valentine's special:  Blooming onion, Don had steak, I had salmon, salads and baked potatoes and we took home a big slice of very good Carrot Cake which we had later.

Coffee, hamburgers and heat

Started cleaning the house and then went to the clubhouse for 10:00 coffee.  We have another hot and humid day going was hard to finish cleaning the house!

Too hot to fix dinner, we had some things we had to do in Bushnell anyway, so we had the Monday Hamburger at Beef O'Brady's again this week.  We got there about 4:45 and the place was already about full.  All these snow birds are clogging up the eating places!  Guess we are a couple of them.

Hot and humid Sunday

Typical Sunday.  We went for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, read papers, took a nap.  It is hot and humid out, had fog this morning.  Don turned on the AC about noon.

We went to the 4:00 Sunday Social Hour and then came home and grilled steak.  Talked to the kids in the evening and watched some of the music awards.  They did a good Prince tribute.

Better

We feel better today thank goodness.  Don helped fix breakfast at the clubhouse and I went over to eat.  A friend was there that I had not seen for a long time so glad I went.

It was another cold night, fog in the morning.

We decided to try a new restaurant for dinner that a lot of people have recommended.  It is in a Rexall Drug Store at Inverness Florida.  It was OK, might go again but not too often.  Think people like it because it is not too expensive.  Which is a good reason!

Cold and sick

It got down to 46 degrees last night, cool and dry air today.  Feels so good.

We went to McDonalds for breakfast and then to Walmart and Winn Dixie for groceries.  Now we have some food in the house!

Don has developed a bad cold and I hurt all over.  Good we had some leftover spaghetti for dinner as we sure did not want to make dinner or go out.

Thursday

Another warm day, good to get out today.

It was the park's Valentine's day dinner at the clubhouse.  They had chicken breast, twice baked potatoes, vegetable casserole and cherries jubilee.  All was very good.

Don seems to be coming down with a cold, oh joy.  I will probably get it despite taking a lot of vitamin C.

Wednesday

I think we are still recovering from the cruise!  We seem to be more tired than usual, other people say it is the weather.  Now that a major weather front has passed maybe we will get back to normal!

Didn't do much today, got computer stuff caught up, read, watched TV.  I made spaghetti for dinner, enough left over for another meal.

We've had the Air Conditioner on all day, hope it cools down soon.

Back posted!

After a fun cruise and in the process of recovering I have gone back today to January 29 and posted about our cruise.   I didn't have internet service on the ship and didn't take my computer.

Back home

Washing, putting stuff away, getting groceries.  Back to real life after a fun trip.

Over 6,000 guests on the ship, over 2,000 staff.  Ship was 2 1/2 football fields long, 17 stories.  Somehow our little motorhome feels more comfortable!

Leaving

Time to leave the ship.  They have a plan and want people to stick to their schedule.  We had breakfast and then back to our cabin for our carry-on and off to our disembarkation place.  We were over an hour early, but all the sudden they said everyone in that area could leave.  So it was off the the exit, clam our luggage, customs and find our mini bus back to our car.  All went well.  We did ask a porter to help with the luggage which was a great help.  He also got us thru faster.  We were on the highway by 11 AM and back to reality.

Last day

Had breakfast in the dinning room, they have good French Toast.  We went up on the deck but it was very windy so we went back to our deck where it was protected.  Lunch back in the dinning room, I had stuffed mushrooms and Key Lime Pie.  Turkey for dinner.

We packed our clothing which was all dirty as the suitcases have to be in the hall by 11 PM.  Then we went to the Parade.  We were doubtful that we would get a sitting spot but did get probably the last two.  The parade was fun, they went all out.

Cozumel

We got up early to have breakfast and get to our meeting place for our trip to the Cozumel Discovery Center.  We got the VIP treatment with our own guide thru the center.  It was very interesting with nice artifacts.

When we got back on the ship we had lunch and took a much needed nap.  At dinner I couldn't decide between a crab cake or eggplant/olive appetizer so I had both.  Also had steak and carrot cake.  The cake was good but I was full so didn't eat much,

We went to the replacement show for the show which had difficulties.  Turns our Royal Caribbean flew a Ventriloquist from Las Vegas to Cozumel that day so they would have a show.  He was funny and did a good job.

Busy day at sea

We went to the main dinning room for breakfast.  I ordered an salmon omlet and asked for salsa.  They didn't seem to know what salsa was and brought me pickles.  Finally got salsa!  Don had a bagel and salmon.

We went to the pool area for awhile and then for more coffee and a pastry.  We had brats and pizza for lunch.

Dinner was early as we planned to go to a 7:30 show.  Turned out the show was canceled to do technical problems, had to order a part from England!  We did manage to get into an always packed Comedy Club, good show.

It was Dress night, which meant lobster night.  I also had cold strawberry soup and Baked Alaska.  Later we walked around the ship and listened to music.

Jamaica

We had breakfast on deck with good strong coffee.  More coffee by the pool.  We docked about 10 AM at Jamaica, it was interesting watching the ship back into it's parking place.  We had lunch at the buffet and then walked around shopping area in Jamaica.  I bought a magnet, just a magnet.  I am sure they expected us to spend more.  It was a hot day, intense sun.

In the late afternoon we went to a diving show and then to dinner.  It was Italian night.  I had lasgonia and the best dessert, a huge warm chocolate cookie with ice cream.  We went to explore Park Place, an area of the ship and then to the top deck to see the stars and moon.
