McDon's, Dunkin and eggplant

Today we went to McDonalds for breakfast and then to Walmart for a few things that added up to over $29.  Came back and went to coffee at the clubhouse.  I stayed and visited with the women for a while longer than usual.  One couple is leaving tomorrow so brought Dunkin Donuts!

Don fixed his famous eggplant for dinner.  It was as good as always.

Tampa trip

Now that the car window is replaced we were off to Tampa today.  We made a mistake of stopping at the Honda place on the way and looked at new Accords.  Now Don has major new car fever.  I will have to admit that the new Accords are really nice.  Lots of new tech stuff.  Our car is 7 years old, it has been a good car - few problems but of course we take good care of our things.

We ate at Sweet Tomatoes and then went to Camping World where Don bought a hose and I ate their popcorn (even though I was not at all hungry, just can't pass up popcorn).  Then we went to Parksdale Farm to get fresh fruit and vegetables.  Strawberries are in season so we got a quart.

Bacon/lettuce/tomato sandwiches for dinner.


Day for everything, but didn't have pancakes.

Home

We got the front window in the car replaced this morning.  It got hot fast today so turned on the air conditioner earlier than normal.  People are starting to head to their northern homes.  Another couple weeks and the park will be getting empty! We stayed home all day, not often we do that!

Sunday Sunday

Today we went to San Antonio (Florida) for breakfast.  The place was really busy, think we got the last available table.  There was a waiting line when we left.

We worked around the trailer in the morning and then took a good old nap in the afternoon.  We read papers outside.  Grilled smoked pork chops for dinner.

I talked to our daughters in the evening.  Sounds like they are getting tired of the snow in Minnesota!

Saturday in the Park

Don helped with breakfast at the Clubhouse today.  We went to dinner at Captain D's in Dade City.

No sinus headache this morning.  When I got up in the middle of the night I turned down the air conditioner a touch and I think it took out the collected humidity.  Will try this trick again tonight.


Minnesota ia are getting ready for spring despite it still snowing often.

Brooksville

We went to Brooksville today, had several places we needed to go - Home Depot, CVS, Harbor Freight, Aldis.  Then we ate dinner a Paneras. 

It was another hot and humid day and again I woke up with a sinus headache, took until noon to get it gone.

Home day

Hot and humid again today, woke up with a slight sinus headache again.  Went to 10:00 coffee at the clubhouse - usual group.  Everyone is talking about when they are going to their northern homes.  We aren't sure, depends on weather.

We worked around the house and lot and fixed dinner at home, no dinner at the clubhouse tonight as the cook has a family issue.

Wednesday at home

Another hot and humid day but I will take hot over cold anytime!  I worked on finances most of the day and got things straightened out. 

We picked up dinner at Arby's and watched more Olympics.


Lisa and Bill's wedding 42 years ago already.  We were there, it was a beautiful wedding.

Brenda's birthday

We went for breakfast at McDonalds in Bushnell and then to Walmart.  I had a lot of groceries to get, have no excuse now for not fixing meals.

When we got back we went to coffee at the clubhouse.  It was getting humid outside so turned on the air conditioners in our trailer when we got home.  The AC stayed on the rest of the day.

It is our daughter's birthday so called to wish her a good day even though she is home bound recovering from surgery.

Monday

Another beautiful day!  We "celebrated" by cleaning the house.  We went to 10 AM coffee in the clubhouse but otherwise stayed home.  Watched more Olympics in the evening.

Beautiful Florida day!

We went to Waffle House for breakfast.  It was very busy when we left - people on their way to the Daytona 500 car races.  We came home and read our two newspapers on the deck.  Don sprayed for ants and I wasn't bit this time.

It is a beautiful day so we went out in the afternoon to read and do sodakas.  We grilled steak for dinner.

Stay put Saturday

Don helped prepare breakfast at the clubhouse again.  I stayed home but later he brought me an omelet.  It was a stay at home day except for a trip to Bushnell for a quick trip to Walmart and pick up a pizza for dinner.  We watched more of the Olympics in the evening.

Official Valentines dinner

It started out foggy but cleared mid morning for a nice day.  We did stuff around the trailer.  In the evening we went for dinner at Oakwood Smokehouse in Leesburg.  They are known for their great food be it barbeque or not.   We had a great rib combo dinner (came with smoked turkey as well which we took home).  We had a coupon for a free appetizer and got onion rings.  Also had beer which came in a mini pitcher.   This was our official Valentines dinner!

Heart donut

We went to Bushnell today as we had a number of things to get done.  First we stopped at Dunkin Donuts which was a surprise stop for me!

Brenda is doing well and got out of the  hospital today, a day earlier than predicted.

Valentine's Day

Off to Panera this morning for a bagel and then some shopping.  We got new rugs for the trailer - a long tan rug for the door/hall and dark blue bathroom rugs for the bathroom.  Sure spruces the place up!

I have a a minor headache all day, I guess in emphany for Brenda who also has one.  She seems to be doing well after surgery but in the hospital for a couple more days.

We went to the clubhouse for a Valentine's Dinner of roast beef which was OK.  The dessert was a banana type pudding which being I'm not a banana fan, I did not enjoy.

Brenda surgeriy

Brenda went into surgery early this morning, seems all went well and she is doing good.  Sheila and Kazia spent the day being there for her.

Another humid day in Florida, better than cold anyway.

Hot old Monday

Hot and humid today.  I didn't sleep well last night.  I had ice on my ant bites and would wake up as soon as it got warm.  So up and down a lot.  The bite on my middle finger is the worst.  I can't wear my wedding ring as that finger is swollen as well.

We got the house clean, we hadn't really cleaned it last week as we both were still sick from the stomach flu.  We are being really brave - I put away our sweaters, etc. and Don put away the space heater.  Hope this doesn't promote more cold weather.

For dinner we went into Bushnell for Beef O'Brady's hamburger night.  Had a coupon for a free appetizer, we got spinach artichoke dip.  Was very good.

The Ants go marching - to me

We went to Steak and Shake at Wildwood for breakfast.  Their coffee pot was not working well, bummer for breakfast.  They were able to make some coffee and heat it in the microwave.

For the first time we sat on our new deck and read the Sunday newspapers.  Sure enough I got an ant bite, actually two bites together.  Then later I was walking put the steps using the hand rail and put by hand right on an ant which quickly bit me on my finger.  This was the most painful bite.  Had ice on them the rest of the day.  Just don't know how they find me and think I am dinner.

It was suppose to rain all day but we had sun, got warm again.

Hot and humid Saturday

Today would have been our son-in-law Dan's birthday.  I can appreciate that this is a very difficult day for Brenda, Becca and Kazia and the rest of his family and friends.

Don helped with Saturday breakfast at the clubhouse.  I went over for a good omelet.  I am finally able to eat something and getting some energy after the nasty flu I had last week.  They had a good turnout.  We have a hot and humid day going.  Now that our grill is working we grilled some brats for dinner.  Ran our air conditioners for the first time, thankfully they work well!

New steps/deck!!!

Don has the deck/steps done.  Still a bit of pick up of wood needed.  They look great, very sturdy!  It is so nice to be able to make a normal exit and entrance into the trailer without fearing for one's life on the wobbly trailer steps.

Now we need to get our lawn chairs out on the deck!!!

First we have several little things that need to be done inside that we have let go in favor of working on the steps.

More wood needed

We went to Brooksville - again - to get 4 more boards for the deck.  This should be enough, according to Don.  It was a bit foggy when we left.  It usually lifts by mid morning but stayed around all day to make for a humid day.

We had a bagel at Panera and stopped at Aldi's for a few groceries.  We went to the clubhouse for dinner, I don't have my appetite back so couldn't eat much.  Good to get out with friends again.

This is just so cool!!!!

Warmer at last

The weather is starting to get warmer in Florida.  It was the coldest January in history.

Don is feeling much better, I am still dragging some but better than yesterday.  I actually got something done!  We still are not eating much.

Don continues to work on the steps/deck, it is starting to shape up.

Recovering

Still recovering from the flu.  I have no appetite, no ambition, just want to sleep.  I am trying to do the basic stuff.  Don worked on the steps/deck some today - don't know how he does it.  

We went to Brooksville for bagels at Panera and hair cuts.  Don had some stops he had to make, I stayed in the car and slept.  

Tomorrow has got to be better.  Hope no one else gets this bug.

Flu

We both feel awful today.  We were up most of last night with the stomach flu.  We don't feel like eating so had some soda crackers and ice tea during the day and breakfast cereal and toast for dinner.  We are exhausted and going to bed early.

Super Bowl Sunday

It started raining as predicted about noon today and rained hard the rest of the day.  It is amazing how fast things green up.  This is the second Sunday of rain.

We went to Cracker Barrow for breakfast and stopped by Winn Dixie for a few groceries.  Otherwise stayed inside.

I made Chili for dinner, not that cold but sounded good on a rainy Super Bowl Sunday.

Saturday

Cloudy and looking like rain today.  Don helped with the breakfast in the clubhouse, I went over but really didn't feel too great.  Felt better as the day went by.

Don continued to work on the steps/deck the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon.  We went to Captain D's in Dade City for dinner.

Happy Groundhog Day

Today started out with nice sun but quickly turned cloudy.  Not heating up much.  We are so tired of the cool weather, coldest January I can remember in Florida.  It's around zero in Minnesota so shouldn't complain but we come to Florida for some sun!  At least no snow here.

There were lots of women for coffee today.  Had good visits.  Don skipped coffee to work on the steps/deck.  We now have to use the back door to get in and out, that works well.

We went to the local Mexican Restaurant for dinner - good as always and crowded as always.

Phil saw his shadow, so 10 more weeks of winter.

First of February

We went to Clermont to day to have lunch with people from the park and some other people.  Our monthly Escapees Chapter meeting.  We were put in a different, much smaller room which was not comfortable at all.  I hope they want our business bad enough to move us back to the large room next month.  Anyway we had good visits and good food.

After lunch we went to KMart, turns out it is going to be closed so stuff was half price.  I got two pair of the jeans I like.  Then we went to Aldi's grocery store and home.

Don went right back to work on the deck/steps.  I took a nap on my heating pad as my back is hurting.

We got a Subway on the way home for dinner.
