Sunday, last day of March

Breakfast at Steak and Shake.  They have good breakfasts but they seriously need to think about hiring some more staff. 

We went to the Ice Cream Social at the clubhouse as we knew it would be the last time for many people leaving soon.  20 RV's are scheduled to leave tomorrow being the end of the month.  Many pay by the month.

For dinner we grilled smoked pork chops and had sweet potato fires done in the air fryer.

Wax and Zaxby's

Don waxed the trailer today.  A good day to do it as it was cloudy.

We went to Zaxby's for dinner.  We didn't have our usual, we had Cobb Salads with chicken.  They were good.  My vinaigrette dressing was very good!

Monticello

Don power washed the trailer today, wanted to get it done before we leave it for the summer.  Plans to wax it tomorrow.  I fought with the computer, the internet was slow to nothing.

We went to Monticello's Pizza for dinner.  We had enough stamps on our card that we got the pizza for free.  The best pizza!

Cajun Jimmys Seafood Seller

We went to the west coast of Florida (Gulf side) to a couple favorite places.  One area was very busy, no available parking but the second area had lots of parking.  We sat on the picnic table for awhile.  It was windy so very few birds, a couple brave on came to see if we were handing out treats.

Then we easily found a place we had eaten at last time in the area.  We got there about 4:30, there was a waiting line by 4:50!  Very popular.  The cuisein is cajun seafood.  We had fried green tomatoes, first time in awhile.  I had grouper (a white fish found mostly in Florida) and jumbalika.  It was super good.

It was a fun day and good to get out and about.

Manatee Day

Coffee at the clubhouse again today.  Then we did a couple errands and picked up lunch at McDonald's.

It's cooler today, rained a few drops this morning.  Other parts of Florida got some storms.

Waffles seemed like a good dinner on a cool evening.

Nice day in the park

McDonalds for breakfast and then Walmart for some groceries.  Fewer people in both, snowbirds are heading home.  It is difficult to buy groceries because we don't want to have to toss out stuff when we leave in three weeks, yet we still have to eat.

After we got the groceries put away we went to coffee at the clubhouse, decent crowd considering many of the regulars have left the park.

Monday, Monday

Why does house cleaning day come around so fast?  Good to get it done and move on to fun stuff.  We have another sunny day, gotta love Florida.

We had leftover spaghetti for dinner.

Sunday waffles and t-bone

Waffle House for breakfast.  Our chances to go there are getting limited as there are none up north.  I think they put double the pecans in our waffles, almost more pecans than waffle!

Came home and read the Sunday Newspapers on the deck.  It was cool at first but warmed up fast.

We grilled a T-bone steak for dinner and had some corn-on-the-cob.

Low, low humidity

My washer/dryer combo doesn't seem to be drying as fast as usual.  (It is slow on a good day.)  So don took the vent apart to see if it was full of link.  It wasn't.  So now we have a couple other things we need to check out before we call for help.  At least the weather is nice and I can finish drying stuff on the outside clothesline.

Besides being warm today we had the lowest humidity I can remember in Florida (or anyplace).  It was down to 15% at one time.  Now for the "Red Flag Warnings" of fire danger.

We brought home Chinese food for dinner, while it was good I am getting anxious to what we get in Minnesota.

Friday Fish

Again went to coffee, not much else to do.  It was a cool night, got down to about 40 degrees.  Again we had to run the furnace this morning and again we still had enough propane.  It turned into a nice warm day. 

We went to Cracker Barrel for their Friday fish dinner.

Florida Sun

We had a cool night, turned the furnace on today.  Our propane is about gone and we don't want to buy any until next fall, so hope it holds out.  The sun was shining and we had a nice day.

We went to coffee at the clubhouse, an ever decreasing amount of people as many are heading north.  Had French Toast for dinner.

Hello Spring - at last

Don worked on our washer/dryer this morning, it is not drying as fast as it should.  (It is slow enough when working well.)  He cleaned out the vent and shortened the vent as it had a U in the first part.  Hopefully this will fix the problem.  Meanwhile I went to coffee as some good friends of ours are leaving and stopped by to say goodby.

The weather has improved, missed that Florida sun.

In the evening we went to Brooksville for dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  We had coupons from our last visit when things didn't go well.  Tonight the food was very good and we got our baked sweet potatoes unlike last time.  Then we went to Aldi's for a few things.  Someone saw Don's license plate frame from the South Dakota School of Mines and commented they had gone there for a year.  Then we went to Harbor Freight, when Don paid the cashier noticed our address and commented that her grandparents stayed at our RV Park.  They are good friends of ours!  Small world.

Spring starts today!!!

Dark old day

McDonald's for breakfast and then to Walmart for a few things.  We are getting to the point that we have to be careful about how much we buy as it is less than 4 weeks until we leave.

Then we went to coffee at the clubhouse, not many people there.  Many have gone home and more going soon.   It rained on and off all day, cool temps.  We had leftover corned beef and cabbage for dinner, good as first time!

Don went to a health insurance presentation at the Clubhouse and I stayed home and cleaned the house.  Guess who got the most accomplished?

The sun was out from time to time today, after a cool night.  We had eggplant for dinner.

St. Patrick's Day

We went to San Antonio (Florida) for breakfast.  It was busy as usual, took awhile to get our order.  Back home to start the corn beef in the crock pot.  I added potatoes and cabbage later, it turned out very good.

Then we read the sunday newspapers as usual.  It rained on and off all day.

Saturday in the fog

Another one of those heavy fog days.  Lots of moisture in the air, almost rain.  The air conditioner was on and off all night, it never really cooled down.  We picked up a couple sandwiches from Arby's for dinner.  A very low key Saturday.

Another nice day in Florida.  We went to 10 AM coffee, a good group today.  We went to Brooksville in the evening for dinner at Panera and then to Aldi's for a couple things (which grew to $30 worth of stuff).

The intersection to Brooksville from the interstate is being redone, it was difficult to figure out where they expected us to go.  We almost went into head on traffic, wonder how the people unfamiliar with the area get around all the cones, lines and barriers.  What a mess, hope it is done soon or at least when we get back in the fall!

Happy pi day

We went to Tampa today.  Had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, always so good.  Made a couple other stops and then to Parksdale Farm for a load of fresh vegetables.

It is a nice day for Florida, not too hot, not too humid.  Good to be out.  Had leftovers for dinner, not hungry after the big lunch we had!

Politics

We went to coffee this morning at the clubhouse.  First they talked about the fact that we shouldn't talk politics and then they did.  I was about ready to leave but managed to change the subject.  Just because certain people love Trump does NOT mean everyone does!

Had computer problems in the afternoon, got to get this replaced.  Don washed the car, it was crusty with tree sap.

We grilled brats for dinner.

Hot, humid

McDonalds for breakfast and then to Walmart for groceries, etc.  We have had a fog lurking all day and it's warm so doubly uncomfortable.

We stayed in the park all day.  Had chicken kiev for dinner.

Home day

Cleaned the house today, I'm trying to get all the woodwork polished - a portion at a time.  Had to turn the air conditioner on as it was getting hot and humid fast.

We stayed around the RV park all day.  I made spaghetti for dinner.

DST

We had to move our clocks up an hour last night for daylight savings time.  This morning we got up at the old 6 AM, it was dark outside and not pleasant.  We went to breakfast at Steak and Shake, they have a good breakfast and inexpensive.  Came home and read the newspapers on the deck before taking a nap to catch up on the hour of missed sleep - still felt tired.

In the afternoon we went to the Ice Cream Social at the clubhouse.  Also had some birthday cake so weren't hungry for dinner for awhile.  Grilled a ham slice for dinner.

Fish, ants and mosquitos

Last night should be our last cold night.  Good thing as our propane is about gone and we don't want to get any more before we leave for the summer.

We went to a fish place we have liked but they changed the menu and of course upped the prices.  May be awhile before we go back if at all.  When we came home we sat on the deck for awhile.  I got an ant bite and a mosquito bite, so decided it was time to go inside.

Coffee, pictures and pizza

Nice day today!  We went to coffee at the clubhouse.  The camera club is displaying their pictures for a vote on what we think is the best.  Hard to choose, they do a professional job.

We went for dinner at our favorite pizza place.  Good as usual and busy as usual.  We always see people we know there!

Escaped to Clermont

We went to the Escapees RV Club luncheon today.  Fewer people than normal, some have headed north already, not a good idea considering the weather!  We had good visits anyway.  Stopped at Aldi for a few groceries on the way home.

There was a dinner at the clubhouse (last one for the season), we were still full from lunch so divided a meal.

It was another cold night but warmed up to 70 degrees today with bright sun.

Dull day at home

The sun is shining but still cool.  It was a cold night, got close to freezing.  We went to 10AM coffee and then home to get stuff done.

Ate dinner at home.  Not an exciting day.

Rain and cold

It was raining but we went to McDonald's for breakfast anyway.  It was a busy place, had to go around a second time to find parking.  Then to Walmart, hadn't been there for three weeks so had a lot to buy.  Still raining when we got home and cold.  By mid afternoon the rain clouds cleared and we had sun but still on the cool side.

Polishing

House cleaning day.  I am putting polish on all the woodwork on section at a time.  Hope to have it all done by the time we leave.

We went to morning coffee, had a lively discussion about many things!  We ate dinner at home, turkey slices, sweet potatoes, veges, etc.

Waffles anyone?

We had breakfast at Waffle House, it was a busy place this morning!  We had to wait for a table, but it is always worth the wait.  We came home and read our two newspapers on the deck, by that time it had gotten hot and time to move inside.

In the afternoon we went to the park's Ice Cream Social.  Grilled some steak for dinner and talked to our daughters in the afternoon.  They are dealing with cold and snow in Minnesota, while we have heat and humidity.

We washed our trailer windows, inside and out, today, we have a lot of windows so it was a big job.  They really look nice, first time we have done them sad to say. 

In the evening we went to Steak and Shake for hamburgers.  It has been a hot and humid day, we had the air conditioner on all day.

March 1, in like a lamb

March!  We worked around the trailer in the morning.  In the afternoon we needed to send a large package (a motorhome hitch that Don sold on ebay) by FedEx.  We put the address in the GPS and off we went to Dade City.  There was no FedEx where the GPS took us, so I used Maps on my phone and off we went to a different part of the city.  No FedEx.  Don went into a near bank to ask but they didn't know of any FedEx.  We drove around and found a Auto Parts place and asked them, they said Walgreens.  Sure enough Walgreens took FedEx.

By now it was time for dinner so we went to Cracker Barrow and had their Friday fish.
