Last of April

The last day of April, it should be nice, warm and sunny but no cold, dark and rain.  At least we aren't  getting now like some places.

Being it is Taco Tuesday, we brought in Taco's for dinner.

Boring

Monday's are disgusting.  We clean the house.  I keep telling myself "get it done and then it's done for a week"  but Monday seems to come around too fast.

We stayed home all day, ate dinner at home, watched TV.

Sunday

We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then across the highway to Fleet Farm (which is know to have everything from human food to cattle medicine).  Then to Menards.  I was disappointed in Menards as 3 of the 4 things I wanted from the ad were not available.  The reason I no longer shop at Walgreens.

In the afternoon our daughters came for a visit. We grilled steak for dinner.

The weather map looked like snow was approaching us all day but fortunately we got none.  We kept busy with stuff all day, in the evening we brought home Chinese food for dinner.

Donkeys

Cloudy day, rain on the way.  Spring in Minnesota - hot, cold, wet, dry.  Just so there are no severe storms.

We worked around the house in the morning.  I straightened up kitchen cupboards.  Now need to do the bedroom and bathroom.

We got sandwiches from Arby's for dinner.

Upside up or down???

Another nice day!  Turning cold and rainy soon so have to take advantage. 

We did things around the house.  Don started organizing the garage, I know I will need to help!  Together we got the storage shelves assembled that our daughter has loaned us.   First time we had the shelf supports upside down but because we now knew how they worked, it didn't take us long to change them around.

Bagel, coffee and sun

Panera for bagel and coffee this morning.  Then we went to Aldi's and Walmart.  Nice day, sun is shining!

We stayed home the rest of the day and for dinner.

Thunder!

Back to real life Monday.  We cleaned the house.  I washed some things.

We were awaken by thunder this morning.  Later we had a lightning strike close by, really window rattling thunder!!!  I always feel sorry for my daughter's dog, Lexi, who hates thunder.

I made waffles for dinner, seemed like a good cool night food.

Easter

We went out for breakfast and a trip to Menards.  Don's first (of many) since we got here.  Brenda stopped in mid day with some Easter candy for us and a visit.

For Easter dinner we went to son-in-law Ken's sisters home.  I took a salad, there was of course plenty of good food. 

We finished reading the Sunday newspapers when we got home.  Don had a hard time staying awake!

Perfect 10 day

Washed some clothing and did some things around the house.  It is an exceptional nice day, the local TV station calls it a perfect 10 day.

We brought home pizza for dinner.

Wind -----

Bright sun, looks like a nice warm day - NOT - a cold wind is blowing bringing down the wind chill.

We went to HyVee for breakfast, they had a special and then got groceries.

For dinner we went to Friday's.  We both had good Cobb salad with salmon.

Good Friday

We went to Panera for bagels and coffee this morning.  This time they actually had coffee.  Then we went to HyVee for groceries.  I think my cupboards are about full now.  HyVee had some great sales!

It was a beautiful day.  Good day to get outside.

We went to Culver's for their good Reuben sandwich and some frozen custard.

Sun, Clouds, repeat

Sun, clouds, sun, clouds, etc. today.  At least the rain has stopped.

We ran a couple errands in the afternoon and then ate dinner at Chili's.

Rain

We got rain today along with some thunder and lightning.  It got very dark for awhile! 

We stayed home and got odds and ends taken care of for awhile.  Ate dinner at home.  I notified Don that the kitchen is closed for the next 3 days.  His turn to figure out what we are going to eat!!!

I agreed to help clean up and clarify our Home Owners Association rules.  Over the years they have gotten doubled up and misinterpreted I guess.  Hope it isn't too big of a job.

Warm day, snow melting!

House cleaning day.  It wasn't bad, just dust.  I washed the sheets and towels so after yesterday's heap of laundry, I'm done doing laundry for awhile!

The snow is melting.  Just some piles by the street and under trees, etc..

It was nice enough to grill some ham outside.  Had that along with fresh asparagus for dinner.

No coffee?????

We went to Panera for coffee and a bagel before going grocery shopping.  BUT Panera had no coffee, their coffee maker was broken.  This happened to us once before there, you would think they would have a spare.  So we went to Perkins.

Then to Aldi's and HyVee, now we have food for a couple days.

I made Don his favorite dinner, tater tot casserole.  It needs an oven and I don't use the one in the trailer.


Tax day!

Getting back to normat

We went out for breakfast and then to Walmart for some groceries.  Later our daughters came for a visit, great to see them again.

I got most everything put away except for the pesky little stuff that likes to linger.

Home!

Home!  We got home about 3:30.  All looked fine.  Don brought in the luggage and the house looked a mess.  I got the important stuff unpacked but too tired to do any more.

We got Chinese food for dinner, watched a little TV before going to bed.

On the road again

We got a good start today about 7:30.  It was another heavy traffic day.  Driving though Nashville is always a challenge, it went well today.  In Illinois there were trucks and more trucks.  Got to Bloomington about 5:30, checked into our motel and went to eat.

It has really gotten cool outside for us.  Last night it was 86 degrees, tonight 46!  Also have heavy wind warnings.

Go

Left our trailer about 8:45 this morning to head to Apple Valley, MN.  It took us 2 3/4 hours to get finished packing and the trailer buttoned up for the summer.

We had a few sprinkles on the way, but no hard rain as predicted.  We got to Birimining, Alabama about 5 PM.  Lots of traffic in Florida!

We watched some TV and then decided to go to bed early.

Get Set!

Pulling stuff out of cupboards, packing, hoping I don't forget anything important.  I washed some clothing, don't want to leave any dirty stuff.  A very busy day!  Don packed the car in the late afternoon.  It is really packed!

We are tired, it will be good to get on the road!

Ready

Packing day, even using our new "Space Bags" we have far too much stuff to take.  We will be gone 6 months so have to be ready for anything!  We have three weddings, at least one reunion and a trip planned this summer!

We had a truly clean out the refrigator dinner.  Almost too much food, but good to get stuff gone`

Hot and humid Monday

Another hot and humid day, glad for air conditioning as I had the house to clean and laundry to do.   Also getting ready to get ready to leave for the season.

We ate dinner at home, need to get food eaten before we leave so we don't have to dump any.

Waffles and chops - not together

Waffle house one last time before we head north!  It was a hot old day, air conditioner ran most of the time.

We went to the park's ice cream social as again last time until next fall.  More people than I expected attending.  We grilled some pork chops for dinner, on the cleaning out the refrigerator/cupboards kick right now.  That means some strange meals!

Dunkin and driving

Don found a Dunkin Donuts gift card in the trunk of the car.  We know we had used up the one we got for Christmas but didn't know where this one came from or if it had any $$ on it.  I tried their web site but couldn't get any info.  So today we went to Dunkin and sure enough there was enough to pay for donuts and coffee today and one more time! (He also found a Home Depot card with $2.89 left.)

The intersection south of us, where Dunkin Donuts is at has been under construction forever or so it seems.  From time to time they change the traffic around.  Today it was an awful mess, many cars not knowing where to go.  So bad we decided to go home the back way even though it is longer.  Turns out we were not the only ones going that way.  Hope it is done when we return, nothing but a multi car crash waiting to happen.

Thunder!!!!

We were awaken about 4 AM by thunder.  We had some impressive lightening alone with the storm.  We got some more rain later in the morning making for a humid day.

Lots of stuff to do around the house in prep for our trip north.  We ate dinner at Cracker Borrow, had their good Friday fish.

Clermont

Today was our monthly Escapees RV Club luncheon in Clermont.  It was a fairly good turnout even though many people have headed north.  Some friends were there we had not seen for a long time.

We had no errands to do in Clermont for a change so headed home.  Had leftovers for dinner as we were still full from lunch.

Bushnell today

Into Bushnell this morning for McDonald's breakfast and then to Walmart.  We are just getting enough food to get us to when we leave.  At least I hope nothing is left over.

There was a screaming kid in McDonalds that was driving everyone crazy except for his parents.

It was a chilly night, got colder than predicted.  Still some propane in our tank to take the chill off in the morning!

Brooksville

Today we went for bagels at Panera and then got hair cuts.  Our usual place couldn't get us in for 3 hours so we went another place.  We only had to wait 30 minutes, got good haircuts.

Then we went to Aldi's and Don went to Harbor Freight.  It rained most of the morning but by the afternoon it had cleared.  At least we needed the rain.

April Fools Day

It is dark and damp today.  Looks like rain any minute.  We cleaned the house.  I am slowly going thru stuff to weed out and think about what I want to take home...

We went to Beef O'Brady's for their Monday special hamburger.  Fewer people now that so many have gone home.
