We had breakfast at Panera and then went to Lens Crafters to order sun glasses for Don and regular glasses for me as mine are many years old. Right away we found Don frames which we both liked. It took me two trips around the big store to finally find a frames I liked. I don't know how I missed them as I really do like them. Now we are anxious to get them!
From there we went to Walmart for a few groceries. I used their electric cart to get around. This was a busy day for me and I was tired.
Today I had an eye exam. It was very detailed and I felt that I had good information. I ordered the Boston (hard) contacts that had been misplaced during my hospital stay. I will sure be happy to be wearing contacts again!
Afterward we ran a couple errands, Don mostly.
Brenda came for a visit before they leave on vacation.
We had waffles for dinner.
Today we went to Cottage Grove for my second covid 19 vaccine. It is good to finally get it and soon to be fully protected.
On the way home we stopped at Perkins for potato pancakes. The place was very busy, had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The pancakes were great - had been a long time!
We had leftovers for dinner and watched TV in the evening.
We got the house semi-cleaned. I cleaned the vanities in the bathrooms, Don did the rest. I also cleaned the kitchen counters, etc. All that tried me out so I took a good nap in the afternoon.
Daughter Sheila came for a visit in the evening. Nothing on TV so Don worked on his eBay and I read.
I actually fixed a casserole for dinner. Enough left for another meal!
We went out for breakfast at HyVee grocery store's café. Then I used one of their electric scooters and drove around the store. I really felt good to get out and also to see some new scenery! I think I am improving but it is so slow, way too slow for me. I get winded walking very far and am shaky.
Later we read the Sunday newspapers and watched the news shows on TV. Without trump they are so bland, thankfully.
Don grilled some steaks for dinner.
Just stayed home today, I seem to be overly tired for some reason. It's cold and rainy outside so have no desire to go out. Don ran some errands and got some groceries.
A big day for me. My first trip out - we went to Panera for coffee and a bagel. My first time in a restaurant and it felt good. Got winded getting inside because, of course, the handicap parking spots were taken and I had to walk further. I watched to see who was parking in them - one was a food delivery person, the other with no visible handicaps.
I worked on getting our expenses for our trip home together to hopefully get reimbursed.
I had my follow up doctor appointment this morning. All is well. She took the staples out of my back and that feels much better. She wants me to see a couple of specialists, a lung doctor and a podiatrist.
Brenda visited in the afternoon. We got our travel expenses together to submit for reimbursement. Figure it is worth a try.
Don brought home shrimp from Perkins for dinner, very good. Still cold outside.
Daughter Sheila came for a visit tonight. We hadn't see her since late December as we had been in Florida and then she was recovering from Covid when we got home. Really good to see her!
We continue to get some things done around the house. And still cold out.
I rode along with Don as he was running erronds today. Good to get out even though it was just in the car. He picked up Chinese Dinners which I had been looking forward to for awhile!
Another nice day, lot of people outside.
Another day for recovery. We are also waiting to hear if daughter Brenda has a positive Covet test. She has a cold and you never know.
It is a nice day out and good to see the sun. I see people out riding their bikes and walking their dogs. One of these days I will get outside again.
Don keeps busy running errands and going to the grocery store. He brings home food for dinner, so far from different places every evening.
I keep busy on Amazon ordering this and that. They have to love me!
All I really want to do is sleep but I do get a few things done. I understand recovery is slow and not always steady - one day is better and the next is worse. I hope I can reman patient through all this. Don is a lot of help, I need help getting out of chairs, etc.
Back on the computer. I was in the hospital for over a week after lung surgery for a lung infection. With the help of good doctors and good medical care I survived and was able to return to Minnesota from Florida. I have some recuperation to do to get my strength and stamina back but all is going well. It was a grueling 3 day car trip back as I still have air bubbles in my lung so couldn't fly. With a great thanks to my daughter Brenda who flew to Florida to help and to husband Don, we made it home.
Now my favorite thing to do is sit in my chair covered by the surpa cover Brenda gave me and watch the world go by!
