Fabulous Ferns

We had dinner at Fabulous Ferns in St. Paul with Brenda and Dan.  It is an interesting place that has been around for a long time.  Because of a mix-up Brenda didn't get her dinner until the rest of us were about finished.  She took it home with her.  Hate it when those things happen.  Anyway we had a good visit!

The weather has finally turned cooler.  We had the windows open all day, love the fresh air!

Labor Day

The Dennis' had us over for dinner along with Ken's parents Betty and Roy.  I was good to see them again.  Other wise we had a quiet Labor Day Weekend which was OK with us.

I went to Kohl's and it was packed.  They had some great sales so fighting the crowds was worth it - I guess!

Tires and more

Don took the car in for 4 new tires, didn't take long.  Now the car needs to have the wheels aligned and new front brakes.  It never ends.

We went to TGI Fridays for dinner.  Had great Jack Daniels ribs and shrimp.  We also had Long Island Ice Tea, it had been a long time.

Shopping in the heat

We tried another Menards and found most of what I wanted.  Of course the item I most wanted was sold out.  Then we (Don) went tire shopping, Discount Tires won out.  Finally it was Walmart for groceries and other stuff, mostly other stuff.

For dinner we used a coupon and go two reuben sandwiches for the price of one.Today was very hot and humid.  I would come out of a store and it would feel like I was walking into an oven.

IKEA again

First we went to Imperial Campers in New Hope where we store the motorhome to check the tires.  Thankfully they are all OK.  We know we need to replace them soon anyway.  Don wanted to start the motorhome but no luck, battery was dead.  House batteries dead as well.  They will jump start the motorhome and take it into their garage and give all batteries a charge then see if they hold the charge.  We know they need replacing so might just go ahead and get it done.

Then to IKEA.  I am getting stuff for the motorhome (or stuff for the house so I can put the old stuff in the motorhome).  I got dishes, glasses, pots and pans and other goodies.  Also ate lunch of an interesting cold chicken plate.

Darn

We went to Sam's Club to get the Honda tires balanced.  Don was called back as all four tires have an area were the tread is cut.  Looks like we ran over something sharp.  We don't know when or where so need to check the motorhome to see if it's tires are cut as well as we might have been towing the car when it happened.  For sure we need new car tires, Ok to drive around town for awhile but don't want to head south without replacing.

We went to the Farmers Market, this time in Rosemount and then got some tacos to celebrate Taco Tuesday.

When we pulled up in the driveway a truck followed us.  I thought it was some kind of salesperson, probably satellite TV.  It was Ron, the Home Owners Association manager.  I had requested when we moved in to have the sidewalk by the front door raised as it had sunk about 4 inches.  Ron told us a contractor would be pumping concrete in that area and in front of the garage to bring both up to level.

Been there, thank goodness for knee replacements!
