No call

We were suppose to get a call today that the new transfer switch for our MH arrived at the repair place.  No call so we don't know what next week will bring.

I would like to tell some people in the park to stop their barking and actually do something about their dogs:

Brooksville and shopping

We decided while we had a chance we'd better get our hair cut, we go to Brooksville for that chore.  We also went to Sam's Club and a couple other places and had lunch while there.  It's a good day out of the park.

Do I ever remember defrosting a refrigerator like this when I was a kid!  Notice all the freezer space, that is why we went for groceries often---   Now my refrigerator in my RV is several times bigger - and frost free.

No repairs yet but back to SO

Got the RV ready to move at 7 AM today but found out that the extended warranty company hadn't yet approved the transfer switch replacement $1200.  And of course they were closed today because of bad weather in North Carolina where they are located.  The RV place wanted us to stay put for awhile in case there were questions.

We left about 3 PM for our site at Sumter Oaks.  It had started raining and got even worse when I had to direct Don into the site.  All went well but for awhile we thought the transfer switch was not going to work at all, finally did.

Later we got the call that the extended warranty company approved the repair.  They have to order the part which will not be in until Friday or later.  We will have to go back next week, I am so excited.

I am also very tired, didn't sleep well with all the strange noises.  Many big diesel motorhomes moving around at all times.  It is like a auto cross with motorhomes in the morning.  Big time diesel noise, air being let in and out of the air bags, squeaking brakes, etc.  We just add to all this noise.  We had parked on each side of us motorhomes which are the maximum size - 44 feet long.  Made our 40 footer seem puny.

Works, doesn't work

We were up at 5:45 today to get ready to turn over our motorhome for repairs at 7 AM.  A service man came for it about 7:15.  We went for breakfast at Steak and Shake, had wanted to try their breakfast for some time.  It was OK, nothing special.

When we returned our MH was back in the space.  They had gotten the transfer switch to not work, but couldn't get the AC to not work.  They suggested we try the AC several times during the day and see it would work, it did every time.

We went to Zaxby's chicken wings for dinner.  Had been a long time since we had been there, the food was still good.

Moving for repairs

The one RV thing I HATE to do is go in for repairs but sometimes there is no other way.  So today we moved about 30 miles north to Wildwood and Alliance RV to get our front air conditioner (works sporadically) and our transfer switch (also works sporadically -  switches between power sources like generator and 110 power).  The move went fine and we parked in their 36 space lot camping area which was about full.  They provide electric and water - no sewer.  We could get only one TV channel.

All this meant we had to put everything away and totally disrupt our lives.  The men in the camping area seemed to enjoy meeting and greeting and discussing their problems.  Never saw any women outside.

Tampa and cold weather

We went to Tampa today.  First we had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes and then it was off to Lazy Days RV and Camping world.  Finally we went to Parksdale farms for fresh fruit and vegetables.  We got some fresh picked strawberries as well!

27 degrees is forecast for tonight, put water in the tank so we could disconnect the hose.  Not looking forward to trying to keep warm.
