Weekend in review

We stayed home Saturday except to have dinner at Pizza Ranch.  (We had a $10 off coupon)  They have OK pizza and great chicken.

Sunday we went for breakfast at Cracker Barrow, good as usual.  Then we went to Menards, they had a big sale going and there were a number of things I need for the motorhome on sale.  I went up and down every aisle and found one item.  I was mad and sat that one item down by the cash register and told them I was NEVER coming back.  I will probably relent, but PLEASE if you have stuff on sale, even if it is the first day of the sale, have your shelves stocked.

When we got home we read the Sunday newspaper and in the afternoon sat outside and read for awhile.  We grilled pork chops for dinner and watched Scandal episodes in Netflix.  (We are caught up on House of Cards and Orange is the New Black shows.)

Three days in one

Don changed the oil in the car Wednesday, we just stayed home.  Thursday we went for groceries and just as we passed my favorite Dollar Store I decided I wanted to make a visit.  I found lots of good stuff for the MH, measuring cups and spoons, divider baskets, etc.  Had a cart full and it came to only $8.  In the evening I tried out the Belgium waffle iron I got for my birthday.  It worked well, easy to use and made good waffles.  We ate too many.

Today we went to Target and Best Buy comparing printer ink prices.  Best Buy matched Target's price which was good as I had a $15 Best Buy coupon.  We brought home KFC chicken for dinner.  I decided it was time to try out the internet controlled light switch I had gotten for my birthday.  Didn't take too long to get it working with some help from Brenda.  It surprised Don when the light came on by itself.

On the hunt

We are on the hunt for items for the Motorhome as we have moved all to the house.  Today we went to two Goodwill stores where I found some things like kitchen utensils, bowls, small plates and small glasses.

First we went for breakfast at Little Six Casino and to the bank to put some jewelry in our safe deposit box.

Birthday dinner

Sheila and family and Brenda joined us for dinner at Buca's (an Italian restaurant that serves family style) for my birthday dinner.  Rebecca is off to college in South Dakota.  Afterwards we came to our house for cake and ice cream.

Sheila gave us a restaurant gift card and a Belgian waffle iron.  We had been saying that at Christmas when we stay in a motel we have waffles for breakfast but this year we will be at home so no waffles.  Now we can make our own!

Besides home made zucchini bread, coffee and bread mix, Brenda gave us a internet remote to turn off and on lights.  Funny thing is that we were talking just this morning about buying one!

Was great to get together with everyone!  Made my birthday especially happy!!!

Birthday

My birthday today.  We went on a Riverboat cruise with lunch on the Mississippi River out of Stillwater, MN.  It was a nice day, a little windy but OK.  We had a good lunch on the two hour trip.  Stopped for ice cream cones on the way home and later went to Panera for dinner.

Seeing Rebecca off to college

Rained most of the day, but the lawns needed some water.  

We went out for a mid-morning break with granddaughter Rebecca.  Had a good visit before she heads off to college on Friday.  She is excited and we wish her well!
