Last day of June

Rain on and off today.  It was hot out and the humidity went higher with every storm.  We went to breakfast at Denny's.  Sheila came over for a visit in the afternoon.

We grilled smoked pork chops for dinner and also had a salad and corn-on-the-cob.

Airport

The heat and humidity continues.  Love the air conditioning!  At least not as hot as Europe with temps around 114!

We picked up our daughter and her new husband from the airport after their trip to Banff in Canada.  Sounds like they had a wonderful time.  By the time we got back to our area it was 8 PM and we hadn't eaten dinner so we went to Perkins and had a shrimp salad which was good.

Words I live by - what goes around comes around.

Heat and Humidity

Breakfast at Hy Vee this morning, they have weekly specials.  Then grocery shopping.  They have more watermelons than I have seen in one place, we didn't get one this time.

Don finally broke down and turned on the house air conditioner.  It was getting very humid inside.  I have a bit of a headache and my back hurts worse today - probably all from the humidity.

We watched the second night of Democratic  debates.  Again some clear winners and clear losers.

Storm

We had what looked like a major storm roll through this morning.  There was a lot of lightning but we only got a bit of rain.  It got as dark as night!  I'm sure some places had some major weather!

We brought home grilled steak from Hy Vee for dinner, always good.  We watched the Democratic presidential candidate debate.  Clearly some winners and some losers!  It will be interesting to see who finally is the Democrats' candidate.

Wednesday in MN

Breakfast at Panera today and then to Walmart and Fresh Thyme Market.  It looked like rain on and off all day but didn't rain.

Caught up on stuff on the computer in the afternoon.  Fixed goulash (my kind) for dinner.

4 more years of licensed driving!

The big event today was getting our driver's licenses renewed.  We had heard of hour long waits and were told not to go on Monday or early or late on any day.  So we arrived about 9:50 AM, just had to wait 10 minutes.  She took both of us at the same time so it took about 30 minutes as we were getting the new "Real ID" type of license.  We had to take a bunch of paperwork to prove our citizenship, address, social security number, etc.  Surprised the woman, I think, that we had everything.

From there to Menards.  Then home for the day.  We grilled ham for dinner.
