Last day of July 2020

We went to Panera for bagels and our free coffee.  Then to HyVee for groceries.  Both places had very few costumers.

After hanging around the house in the afternoon we went to a new place, at least new to this area, Pancheros.  When we spent summers in Rapid City, South Dakota we ate at a Pancheros often.  This one still had the same good food - burritos.  They grill their tortillas fresh for each burrito, then you tell them what you want on your burrito.  We always have steak, rice, black beans, salsa, etc.

Watched more Downton Abby in the evening.

Nice weather week!

Beautiful weather today!  I worked on the new computer some more, what a pain.  Made no progress in getting an email app up and running.

We did stuff around the house, read and Sudoku's.

For dinner we got grilled steak from HyVee and had the fresh green beans Brenda gave us.  They were very good.

Potato pancakes and vegetables

We had potato pancakes at Perkins today.  We saw a man come in without a mask, he was approached by an employee then he turned around and left.  First time we have see someone refuse to wear a mask.  It is now a state law so there is nowhere he can go, needs to get a life.

Then we went to Walmart for a few things.  Nice day to be out and about.

We had leftover spaghetti salad for dinner.

In the evening Sheila came over with vegetables:  corn-on-the-cob, beans, cucumber, green pepper and cantaloupe.  We will enjoy!!!

Spaghetti and grout

We were slow go this morning but I did get my spaghetti salad put together, it has to sit for a few hours to be really good.  Has spaghetti, pepperoni, cucumber, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and marinated artichoke hearts (my favorite).  And a dressing made with the with the artichoke marinate, vinegar and some spices.

Don cleaned the tile grout in the front entry way.  The last of the grout cleaning for which he is happy!

We had the spaghetti salad for dinner and have enough left for another meal.

More Geek time

Clean house for another week.  And it appears we will have a nice weather week.  I know, something always changes the weather - and only predict what is outside the window!

In the afternoon I went for a second visit with the Best Buy "Geeks".  I had two Geeks this time and also had an idea of what might be the problem.  Between us we got it figured out and a way around that was acceptable to me.  Now on to getting my email on the new computer!

I felt I had earned a iced coffee so stopped in Panera where I am currently getting them for free!

We had leftovers from three meals for dinner - Chinese food, prime rib and ham.  Plenty of food!  The best part the refrigerator has some room.

Breakfast at Cracker Barrow

We decided to venture out 20 miles to Cracker Barrow for breakfast.  Their web site indicated 0 wait time so we registered on-line.  When we got there we were told it was a 10 - 15 minute wait.  We were waiting by the restaurant entrance when a woman came and told us we couldn't stand there (it was not blocked off), we asked where we could stand, she said the other side of the store in not so polite of a tone.  We looked around the store some and they called our name in about 15 minutes.  They put us two at a big table, but from there everything was good.  Love their food, but probably will not go back for awhile.  (When we came out people WERE standing by the door.)

Our daughters came for a visit in the afternoon.  Always fun to catch up on their activities, at least someone has a life!

It rained on and off in the morning, cloudy in the afternoon and finally clearing in the evening.

Miracle, we got our Sunday newspaper after letting our subscription run out and then resubscribing at a lower rate.  Not only did we get the paper (delivered at the end of our drive) but it was double bagged so dry.

We grilled some ham for dinner and had corn-on-the-cob and a huge salad with cucumber and green pepper.
