After a very restless night I decided I need to get some things done rather than worry about them. One thing was to clean out junk from closets and cupboards. I was going through things in our walk-in closet where there is floor to ceiling storage about a foot wide. I pulled out some clothing and couldn't believe what was behind - the two small boxes of earrings that I had been looking for since we came north about a month ago. I had given up on them thinking they had been "taken" from a motel room. Most of the earrings are not valuable except for some were given to me by family and friends. Some of the earrings are gold, silver or turquoise and a couple pair belonged to my grandmother. I could hardly believe what I was seeing and so thankful to have them back. I had come to realize that possessions are not the most important thing in one's life. (I did entertain the thought that I hopped who ever wore my earrings would have their ears swell, turn red and burn.) I know I was quickly putting things away when we returned and must have had the earrings in one hand and other stuff in the other, put the earring boxes down to hang some clothing and they slipped behind and then I totally forgot about having them in my hand. I had looked everywhere - almost!
We didn't get enough snow to plow so Don cleaned the driveway and walkway to our house.
