Office

Today we finished cleaning the office (extra bedroom), moved furniture around and set up the table for a computer table.  Moved the computer and printer into the office.  Looks nice and the dinning is starting to look more like a dinning room.  Keep finding places to put stuff, getting limited!

Delivery

Today daughter Sheila and husband Ken, with some help from grandson Josh delivered our stuff we have stored in their basement for 14 years.  There was way more than I thought.  It too two of their truck loads for the storage boxes and one more trip for a table Don had built.  It is good to have all our things in one place but will take some time and effort to find places for the stuff.  I'm sure Sheila and Ken can find something to do with the space!

I want one that says "If found wondering around Menards, return to Sue"

One step forward, two steps back

Putting stuff away continues.  I am so slow, can't bend or reach high and often have to take Don away from his jobs to help me.  It seems like I am making headway but then I look around and see tons of things that need to be done.

This week involved four trips to Best Buy for television and parts associated with getting it set up the way we wish.  The cable man came (early) and hooked up internet.  We will use it with our TV but it is so nice on the computer, phone, etc.  Our television is to be installed by The Best Buy Geek Squad on Wednesday.

We started getting the newspaper delivered and appreciate not running to a gas station to get one.

Our new townhouse - not:

Charles spent much of his adult life perfecting the art of simplicity for “economic, aesthetic and quasi-spiritual reasons.” Due to this, he began scaling down his life until he found himself living in tight space – a 7x12' gypsy wagon built by a friend.

Motorhome in for repairs

We have been working on getting the motorhome clean all week.  Today we took it in for repairs.  Good to have it out of the campground and out of our minds for awhile at least.

In the afternoon we came back to the townhouse and continued to get things organized.  Finally feeling like I am making some headway.  At least the kitchen is cleaned and our bedroom stuff put away.  Who knew it would be such a big job!

Father's Day

Both daughters and grandchildren came over for a Fathers Day visit with their Dad.  Don and I went to Cracker Barrow for breakfast to celebrate.  He got some nice gifts from the kids which he appreciates.

Big move

All week Don and I have been moving car loads of stuff from our motorhome to our townhouse.  Today we drove the motorhome to the townhouse and all the kids and grand-kids carried in loads and loads of stuff inside.

It is good to be all in the same place but we seriously wonder how we got so much stuff in our motorhome.  Now we have the huge job of making sense of it all.

Slept, not too well, in the townhouse for the first time.

Moving

We have been taking loads and loads of stuff from our motorhome to the townhouse.  We are SO tired tonight, can't even think.  Worst part is our motorhome looks like nothing has been removed!  We have far too much stuff.

I am slow moving and can't bend and reach thanks to back surgery three weeks ago today, wish I were more help.

The carpet and vents were cleaned yesterday and tomorrow most of our furniture will be delivered.

I could use a nap too:

Homeowners we are!

We closed on the townhouse today, all went very well.  So we are now the proud owners of a two bedroom, one level townhouse.

Yesterday we moved to a campground closer so we could cut a half hour off the trip.

Grad party

This evening was our grandson's high school graduation party.  The weather was perfect, company
great and excellent food.

I overdid it a bit and forgot to take extra pain pills with me so by the time I got home I was a painful mess.  Couldn't get to bed fast enough.  But I wouldn't have missed the party for anything.

Rain day

An all day rain day.  I hate not getting outside and know I will pay for not walking but what can I do.  I would be drenched by the time I got to the car.

We did use the day to tie-up final things for closing on the townhouse on Monday.  Got answers from the realtor and banker, so we all are good to go.

Tuesday and Wednesday

We did some Walmart shopping yesterday, I wear out fast and headed to the bench by the door.  Some man had managed to hog the whole thing, so I moved on.

Today we went furniture shopping.  Don had been looking for a chair and found one he wanted me to see.  I liked it and we purchased it.  I saw I lamp in the same place and we ended up buying that as well!

Dinner at daughters

Daughter Sheila and family had us for dinner tonight.  It is always good to get out and really good to visit with family.  I am a bit nervous about being in public with my back brace, slow walking and sometimes needing help, but feel OK around family.

I was think their dog would notice something different about me and being a nervous dog wouldn't want to be around me but she was right there with greetings and kisses!

Our 51st wedding anniversary

We went out for breakfast this morning.  It takes me so long to get ready in the morning I had to get up early.

Brenda and Rebecca came for a visit in the afternoon and then Don and I went for dinner at Olive Garden.  Was a nice full day.  I was very tired in the evening.

Getting better little by little

First time eating out after surgery.  All went well.  The food was good but my appetite is down, not a bad thing.  We have been trying to get out to a store or someplace I can walk every day.  I don't use the walker much in the motorhome but am somewhat shaky.

Granddaughter Rebecca graduates

Granddaughter Rebecca graduated high school today from the School of Environmental Studies.  It was held outside at the Minnesota State Zoo, a beautiful setting.  I would have been a little much for me to attend but I sure thought of her.

Moving on

After resting Sunday and Monday we went out to Walmart for a few groceries.  It really felt good to get outside and all went well.  It takes me forever to shower and get dressed in the morning so the day is cut short.

Pain isn't too bad, I'm trying to take fewer pain pills and get myself up out of chairs and the bed when possible.  Moving to the well side!
