Grocery day

We went for breakfast at McDonald's and then to Walmart for groceries.  Back to the park for 10 AM coffee.

It rained a little in the afternoon, much needed rain but didn't get enough to count.  We got sandwiches from Arby's for dinner.

Pain yet!

My stomach hurt all night and today - not so bad today but annoying.  Never again will I have blue cheese dressing!

A man came and measured for blinds in the front part of our trailer.  We will have to go pick them out next week then he will install.  It was a stay at home day.  I slept on and off in my chair in the afternoon since I didn't get much sleep last night.

We went to the clubhouse dinner in the evening.  It was stew with biscuits, caesar salad and cherry dessert.  The stew was low on vegetables and high on potatoes.  Opposite than what I make.

Came home and watched some TV and some of the impeachment trial.

Day trip

We went to Tampa today.  Had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes and then went to Lazy Days RV.  Don needed to look for a trailer part.  Then to Camping World and finally to Parkesdale Farms for a Strawberry shake and to load up on fresh fruit and vegetables.

By the time we got home, my stomach was big time hurting.  I had some blue cheese dressing, sign said it was home made but it must have had a lot of MSG.  I felt somewhat better later on.  Won't have that again, as much as I like blue cheese dressing!

Nice day for a little trip!

All shook up!

Stay in the park day.  We went to 10 AM coffee.  Don did some stuff outside.  I couldn't remember what I needed to do so didn't do any real jobs.

In the afternoon I was sitting inside reading when it felt like the trailer shook.  Then it did it again.  I thought Don had done something to the trailer outside, when he came in he said no, he didn't.  Later I noticed on my phone that about that time there was a major earthquake in the Caribbean.  That people in Miami had felt the shaking.  Then later the news said some people in mid Florida had also felt the shaking.  That was probably what I felt in the trailer!

We had French toast for dinner.

Monday again

Cleaned the house today.  Went to 10 AM coffee.  Ate dinner out.

My day!

Sunday, January 26, 2020

Sunday

We went to San Antonio (Florida) for breakfast.  Nice day for a little road trip.  Came home and read the newspaper.

I had two loads of clothing to wash and Don took the sheets to the laundromat (king size, don't fit in my little RV washer.  We grilled ham for dinner.

Saturday breakfast

Don helped again today with the park's Saturday morning breakfast.  I went over later for breakfast.  Afterwards I visited with some friends for awhile (while Don helped clean up).  We did stuff around the house, Don is slowly cleaning out the shed.  I am putting new elastic in some of my capris.

We went for dinner at Zaxbys, had salads.

Built by my family!

New oven tryout!

We needed to go to Home Depot again so had a bagel at Panera on the way.  After Home Depot we went to Target only because I hadn't been to a Target for a long time.  Ended up Don bought two items, I didn't buy anything.

Somehow I got a couple loads of clothing washed inbetween in my little RV washer.  We had leftover soup for dinner.  I used my new countertop oven for the first time, I made Red Lobster biscuits.  They turned out well and the oven worked fine.

We watched some of the impeachment trial on TV and then some of the recap.  Seems like no one cares but the Democrats.   Will be interesting to now see how the Republicans present.

Food

We went to breakfast at McDonald's and then to Walmart.  We got back to the park early enough to go to 10 AM coffee.  Lots of people there again.  Some friends and I decided to go to a empty table, were accused of being antisocial!  My friend said "this is what we do".

In the afternoon I put new elastic in a pair of my capies.  I haven't worn them much but the elasticity was completely gone.  It wasn't as big of a job as I thought, it it works I will do another pair with the same problem.

For dinner we went to the clubhouse Thursday night meal.  The spinach salad was good, the apple pie dessert good, etc. but the chicken in gravy over spattle was so so.

Cold night, nice day

The temp got down to 29 degrees last night.  We kept warm in bed but hard to get up.  Don turned on the propane furnace and in a short time it at least felt better.  We waited awhile to take showers.  The day was cool but nice.

We went to 10 AM coffee, it is getting so busy, more so than usual.

Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Cold day, hot soup

We cleaned the trailer today.  I made vegetable soup in the crock pot, it was a cool day so the hot soup was good in the evening.

Don brought our plant inside for the night and just before bed disconnected the water hose and brought it inside as it is forecast to freeze tonight.

The Impeachment Trial starts today:

Dentist day!

This is the one day a year that I could do without:  Dentist visit.  We had our teeth cleaned and x-rayed.  Again this year we had no cavities!  The visit really isn't SO bad, but I'm much happier when it is done.

To celebrate, it is an annual tradition, we went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and a donut.  Had to sugar our teeth back up!  That was about noon so suffice for lunch.  By dinner we were hungry but just had leftover Chinese food.  We had to take an M @ M break mid evening.  Strange day for eating.

It was a cool night last night but nothing like the next two.

Sunday, January 19, 2020

We went for Sunday breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  They were almost empty when we got there but filling up when we left.  Came home with coffee and drank it while reading the Sunday newspaper on the deck.  Nice to be outside!

For dinner we grilled some good steak, it was a big one so had more than enough.

Not to hot, not too cold

Spent more time reading, etc. on the deck.  Not too hot outside, not too cold!

Don helped with the Saturday campground breakfast, I went over to have an omlet.  We brought home Chinese food for dinner.

Nice day to be outside

We went to Brooksville to try to get clips for the new window blind.  Don broke a couple while trying to put it up.  Found some similar ones, but don't think they will work.

I sat on our deck most of the afternoon reading the South Dakota magazine and doing sodakas.  Really a nice day, not too hot or too cold.  Family in Minnesota are getting snow and perhaps a blizzard.

We got sandwiches from Arby's for dinner.

Park dinner

We went to Bushnell for a few groceries (never just a few).  Otherwise stayed home the rest of the day.

In the evening we had dinner at the clubhouse.  It was very good:  lasagna, roasted brussel sprouts, garlic toast and lemon bars.  There is always ample food but I could have eaten more brussel sprouts!

Wednesday, January 15, 2020

In the park

We stayed in the park all day.  Went to 10 AM coffee, otherwise did stuff around the house.  Don attempted to install the new blind but had problems, we need to go to town tomorrow for parts.

Don got the propane bottles filled as it appears we may use some gas to heat the place next week - after being hot so far the month.  This is the trailer's second birthday!

We grilled brats for dinner.

Tuesday, January 14, 2020

Welcome

Today we went to Brooksville, had a bagel at Panera and then went to Home Depot.  We decided to buy one blind, take it home and put it up to see how we liked it.  If we like it we will buy them for our other living room and kitchen windows in the trailer.

Then we got hair cuts, after that went to Aldi for some groceries.

We had shrimp lo mein for dinner at home.

New welcome matt I bought today!

Monday in the park

Got the house cleaned and the last of the stuff put away.  I still have some places that I need to organize but that can and will wait.

We went to 10 AM coffee today.  Lots of people attending.  I got to catch up with the ones I was sitting with, too much noise to talk to others.  We went into Bushnell for Beef O'Brady's Monday hamburger deal for dinner.

Sunday, January 12, 2020

Waffle House!

We went to breakfast at Waffle House - just beat the crowds!  Came home and read the Sunday newspaper.  Don took the sheets and jeans to the laundromat.

For dinner we grilled some steak, it has been awhile since we grilled as it was too cold in Minnesota.  Also had some sweet potato fries and a salad.

Saturday, January 11, 2020

Still getting settled

We went to breakfast at the clubhouse.  They have good omelets every Saturday morning.  Then we started to work organizing the trailer.  Don cleaned out the loft and got it loaded back up, also putting away the luggage.  I organized some cupboards, still have many yet to do.

In the evening we went to dinner at Zaxby's, came home and watched some TV and did some reading.  We are both still tired from the trip.

Unloading

We went to Walmart in the morning for groceries and a few other things.  Came to $100, more than I ever buy.

Don got the car unloaded, then the junk became my problem!  I got some things put away and a lot of things shoved into some cabinet or another.  The rest is still sitting around, so that is my next project - putting away the rest and then organizing the cabinets where I stuffed stuffed.  We definitely have too much of some things like toothpaste of all things.

I put to use some Christmas presents like my new cracker containers and napkin holder, etc.  I finally got tired and then I had a short session of the stomach flu.  I could have picked that up anywhere from Minnesota to here.

Platteville to Sumter Oaks

On the road again at 7:45.  I have to remember to set the GPS before we leave as we are taking on Montgomery right away.  Our GPS makes a mistake right in the middle of Montgomery (our old one did the same) so have to be prepared.  All went well.

We got gas at Durham, we were driving on fumes - hate that feeling that any second the car could stop moving.

Then it was into Florida!  It is still a long way, but a good sign the same.  The traffic on Interstate 75 was awful, moving fast despite many, many Highway Patrol cars.  We pulled in our place about 4 PM.  All is well with the trailer and our other things.  We unloaded the inside of the car and decided to leave the trunk until tomorrow.  Didn't want to deal with any more traffic so had a can of soup for dinner.

Welcome to Winter Home.

Effingham to Platteville, Alabama

We got on the road about 7:45.  There is usually some sort of weather going on in these parts but today it was clear as a bell!  No fog, ice, snow, etc.

This was our day to go through Nashville.  It has been a challenge but today went very well, maybe we are getting the path down.  All the suppen we were south of the city and whizzing along to Alabama.

Our usual place to stay in Platteville, Country Inn, was not advertised so we stayed at Sleep Inn.  It was fine and not much different than our usual place.  When we got there we discovered that Country Inn is now Comfort Inn and it appeared it was closed for renovation.  We ate at O'Charley's like usual, it was good to have something besides burgers.

Watched some TV and went to bed early.

Apple Valley to Effingham, Illinois

We got on the road about 6:45.  There seems to be a lot to do to close the house, small details.  It's always good to get in the car and head out.

The only excitement of the day was when we came upon a one car wreck.  The person must have gone to sleep or worse had a health problem.  Of course everyone had to slow down to have a look.  I wasn't paying much attention until Don said "there are body parts all over".  I sat right up to have a look expecting to see arms, legs and maybe a head!  I saw none, so I asked Don what body parts he saw and he said "there was a fender, a bumper and a rear view mirror".  Auto body parts.

We got to Effingham about 4:30, got gas and a quick dinner and checked into our hotel.  Watched some TV and went to bed early.

Monday before we leave

Clean house, wash clothing, finish packing, check and recheck to see we have all, tie up loose ends.  What a busy day.

The good part is we met our family for one last dinner before we head south!

Sunday visits

We went to Denny's for breakfast.  Our server remembered our usual drink order.  Think we are going there too often?

Sheila came over for a visit after lunch and Brenda and Scott came over later in the afternoon.  In between I worked on getting stuff ready for winter in Florida and getting the house ready.

Again we had stuff from the freezer for dinner, it is almost empty now.

Saturday, January 4, 2020

Saturday at home

We got a lot done today, packing for our trip south!  It's a big job and I will probably forget something.  I just hope it is not something really important.  I got all the clothing folded and packed, that was a job in itself as we have to take stuff for the winter and a cruise.

Today we spent at home, even at dinner at home.  We are trying to get our refrigator and freezer empty as we will be turning it off.  In the evening we watched some TV and relaxed.

Friday, January 3, 2020

HyVee will miss us and us them.

We had breakfast at HyVee, one last time before we head south!  Then grocery shopping, we bought 3 items.  The store was probably concerned about us!

It was back to HyVee in the evening for their good Chinese food.  We will miss that.

Holidays are over

It was a stay at home, get something done day.  We were putting the last of Christmas away, putting gifts to us away, etc.

I pulled the clothing we will take to Florida and for our cruise.  It was hard to decide what I will want to wear for the next 3+ months and what I will want on the cruise, but had to be done.  Now the packing----

We went to Panera for soup and salad.  Both our soup was just room temperature so we had to take it back for some hot soup.  I like hot things hot and cold things cold!  The place was busy.

Happy New Year 2020

Brenda came over in the morning to give us a couple things.  Sheila came in the afternoon and Brenda returned!  We had a good day of visiting - best way to spend New Years Day!

I made Don's favorite meal, tater tot casserole.  I had the ingredients that needed to be cleared from the freezer before our upcoming trip.
