Brooksville and Mt. Rushmore

We went to Brooksville today.  Went to Target and a couple other places.  I hadn't been to a Target for awhile, need a Target fix now and again.  We ate at Panera, always good.  Not too crowded in the evening like it is at noon.

It was another hot and humid day.  I closed the motorhome windows at noon and announced we would be running the air conditioner.  I could tell Don didn't agree but he had no choice.

Don't depend on your GPS to get your to Mt. Rushmore or you will end up at Storm Mountain Center! (I have been to Mt. Rushmore many, many times and know exactly where it is located, so ask me.)

Heat and Ribs

Hot and humid.  Don had a "no air-conditioning" day.  Early afternoon I felt like I was sick to my stomach from the heat and humidity, he begrudgingly turned on the AC.  Just seem to have to have day's like that.  Was 87 degrees inside.

We started the day with breakfast at McDonald's and grocery shopping a Wal Mart.  I had a few other things I wanted, found nothing.  Did get a pair of winter gloves for $.50.  In the evening we went for dinner at Oakwood in Leesburg (about 30 minutes NE).  They specialize in ribs and had a special for a full rack of baby backs.  They were great and we brought home enough for another meal.  

It was Survivor night on TV.  Then much back and forth on Facebook dissecting the show.

Home day, eeky weather

Another day at home.  Weather is the same, hot and rain.  I went to coffee at the office this morning and a lot of people were there, I think everyone felt the need to get out of their RV's.

We had frozen pot pies for dinner which were OK, we had a huge salad with the fresh vegetables that we got last week.  Just watched some TV in the evening.

Humidity, eggs and Lethal Weapons

Just a day at home, still raining from time to time but no storms.  I am getting, not just getting, but tired of this rain.  Where is the Florida sun?  Every day this week rain is forecast and high temperatures as well.  Even Don wants the air conditioner on.

We had some eggs to get rid of so had scrambled eggs, bacon and waffles for dinner.  We watched the second "Lethal Weapons" movie.  Old movies, their cell phones are even bigger than my first phone which was the size of a brick.  Good movies, funny and dramatic.  Two more to go, we DVR'ed the movies from a Dish Satellite channel.

Happy Easter!

We went for breakfast at Steak and Shake and then came home to read papers.  It has looked and felt like rain all day.  Very HUMID and lots of allergens around.  Got up to 90 degrees today.

Mid afternoon we went for dinner at Cracker Barrow.  We thought that would be a good time to go when the place wasn't too busy.  Wrong, we had to wait a few minutes - the place was packed.

Eating and rain

McDonald's for breakfast and the groceries at Winn Dixie.  It is another rainy day.  There is sun for awhile and then all the sudden rain and back to sun.

For dinner we went to Coyote Rojo's a great Mexican place in Bushnell.  We had heard they were going to close as they couldn't renew their lease, but I overheard someone ask and they said the lease was renewed.  That is great news for them and us.

It was starting to rain when we left for home and on the way home it begin to rain very hard.  We could hardly see the road.  We sat in the car for awhile when we got home, it let up a bit and we made a quick trip inside the motorhome just before it started up again.  Some places got hail and wind but we did not.

Good Friday

We had major rain during the night.  It sounded like hail on the motorhome roof but it was just little branches from the tree over us.  Lots of lighting and thunder!  Didn't get a lot of sleep.

We went to Beef O'Bradys for their fish and shrimp dinner.  We had a coupon for free "funnel fries" which turned out to be a dessert, funnel cake shaped into fries sizes with chocolate and caramel dips.  Very good.



Good Friday

Tampa

Today we went to Tampa, mostly just for something to do and to see if there is life out of the park.  We ate at Sweet Tomatoes, not so many people there today.  Then to Lazy Day's RV and Camping World.  Finally we went to Parksdale Farms for some fresh vegetables and their famous strawberries.  Don declined to have on of their super sundaes.

It has looked like rain all day.  HOT and HUMID, but that is Florida in the spring.

We went for breakfast at McDonald's and then groceries at Wal Mart.  Made a Post Office stop and then home for the day.  We grilled some brats for dinner.

Monday, what more can I say----

Cleaned the house today, we have had the windows open and because it has been so day there is a lot of dust.  I found out by accident that if my Kindles' operating systems were not updated they would not work tomorrow.  The one I use all the time we OK but the old one Don sometimes uses was not.

We went for hamburgers at Beef O'Brades', Monday is their hamburger night.  Always great burgers!

Waffles, roast and flowers

For breakfast we went to Waffle House for their always good breakfasts including a pecan waffle.  Then we cam home and read the papers.  It has rained on and off all day.  One minute the sky is blue and the next full of dark clouds.  Much humidity.  We turned on the air conditioner in the afternoon.

I cooked a roast in the crock pot with potatoes and carrots.  It was a big roast so we have leftovers for a meal and sandwiches!

First day of Spring.  The dogwood trees and azalea bushes are in full bloom.

Bushnell X 2

We went to Bushnell for a few groceries this morning.  It started raining while we were there and continued raining most of the day.  I hate rain days but we really need the moisture.

On the way back from Bushnell there was what looked like a rear end accident involving two cars, guess they forgot to take it a little easy in the rain.

In the evening we were going out for dinner a distance north but because of the rain decided to not go so far and just got pizza in Bushnell and brought it home.  We watched a couple recorded shows in the evening one being The New Budapest Hotel.

Hot, North and Dinner

Lots of people are leaving the park and heading north-home.  It continues to be hot and humid, our air conditioner runs a lot.

We went to Captain D's for dinner.  It is usually very crowded but not tonight.

St. Patrick's Day

It was a hot and humid day, water pours out of our air conditioners.  Too hot to be outside.  We went for dinner at the clubhouse, rather than have something Irish they had "chicken pot pies" but not like I think of pot pie.  It was a chicken, vegetable gravy poured over biscuits.  It didn't look too good but actually tasted good.  We had a nice visit with the people around us.

Surviving coffee and corned beef

This morning we went to our 10 AM coffee gathering as usual.  A couple that likes to use the big TV to play (and dance to) a dance video decided not to use their allotted time of 11 to 12 AM instead to use our coffee time.  They had the music so loud we had to shout at each other.  Finally we asked them to turn the sound down, they got mad and left.  What really bothers me is people who have NO consideration for others but go ahead and do what they wish.   I hope I never overstep and offend anyone like this and if I do please let me know!

In the evening we went to Cracker Barrow for their good corned beef and cabbage they have around St. Patrick's Day.  They were O U T.  We ordered something else but what a disappointment.

Hair, Pizza and near miss

We went to Brooksville this morning.  First we got hair cuts, mine looks OK - I warn the hairstylist NOT to cut too much.  For some reason some hairstylists think I want my hair an inch long.  Don likes his super short.

We ate at CiCi's Pizza and went to CVS Pharmacy and Sam's Club before going home.  We had a near miss - a little class B motorhome pulled out in front of us on the highway, we were going the speed limit, about 50 miles as hour.  Thank goodness no one was in the other lane or we would have hit them broadside.  Don actually honked the horn, about the second honk in his life.

It was hot in the motorhome when we returned as we left the windows open, took awhile to cool off as it is 86 degrees outside and  humid.

Pi

A super stay at home day.  I cleaned the house in the morning and was inside all day.  Don went to coffee at the clubhouse.  Finally in the late afternoon I decided I needed to get outside so sat in my lawn chair for awhile.

DST

It was hard getting up this morning, felt like 6 AM not 7 AM thanks to daylight savings time.  We went to breakfast at Cracker Barrow and had their special with "extra meat".  Don got half sausage and half bacon.  I ordered all bacon but got turkey bacon which I don't care for, at least not compared to their great pork bacon.  So asked for it to be replaced and got a huge plate of pork bacon.

We stayed home the rest of the day.  It started raining on and off about noon.  We were able to grill steaks in-between rains.  Got all of our Sunday papers read.

Food

After going to Bushnell for a few groceries, we picked up lunch to eat at home.  In the evening we went to Monticello's Pizza for dinner.  They have the best pizza and everyone else must think that.  They more than doubled their space and it still gets full.  Several others from our park were also eating there.

Afterwards we went to visit a friend who is recovering from back surgery in a rehab place.  She seems to be doing very well.  I would go nuts and want to come home, she has been there 3 weeks.

We set our clocks ahead for daylight savings time before going to bed, made it look like we were going to bed at about 1 AM!

Beaches

Today we went west to beaches.  First we went to Pine Island, there are many houses on stilts.  Some houses are very elaborate and it looks like they try to build them higher and higher so they can see over each other for a view of the water.  Then we went to Bayport beach, we sat on a bench for some time in the sun and wind.  Beautiful area!

Afterward we went to Brooksville to eat at Ruby Tuesday's before getting gas and going home.

Allergies

We have a wind today, blew over my plant but it has lived through worse.  The wind is also blowing up all sorts of allergens.  The pollen level is HIGH.  It got up to 85 degrees today, we turned on the air conditioner after dinner and kept turning it down.

In the afternoon we sat outside again in the shade.  I don't know how I'm getting tan (and red in some areas) sitting in the shade.

Dinner was at the clubhouse.  It was suppose to be pulled pork but it was roast pork,  The best part was some baked macaroni and cheese.  All in all the dinner was good, not great.  People at our table felt the same.

Heat, Crane and groceries

It's getting warmer every day.  Was a high of 85 today.  We managed to stay outside most of the afternoon but then turned on the air conditioner so it was cool enough to eat inside.

We went for breakfast at McDonald's in the morning and then to Walmart for groceries, etc.

Heat, ants and tacos

After a slow day around the park, we went to Bushnell for dinner at Beef O'Bradies.  Tonight was their taco special.  I loaded mine up with salsa and managed to squeese it out on the first bite all over my shirt.  I really looked special---

We sat outside all afternoon and read.  A couple ants finally found me but didn't bite.  It is getting warmer every day so we take advantage of days we can be outside.

The weather has been beautiful!  Cool night with days in the mid 70's.  We have to enjoy it now because heat is forecast.  I cleaned the motorhome inside, it was so dusty as we have had the windows open every day.  I'm sure the dust is already back.

In the afternoon I sat outside for a long time reading.  For some reason the ants haven't found me, I am so allergic to their bites.  But some tiny flying bugs are around and like to be in my face, I fan them off and they are gone for awhile only to return.

We stayed  home for dinner which means this is one of the few days we never moved the car.

French toast in San Antonio

Today we went to San Antonio for breakfast!  Not Texas but Florida San Antonio.  We had a great breakfast, French toast with cinnamon, eggs, bacon and hash browns.  Their coffee was great,  We brought coffee home to have while we read the newspapers.

In the afternoon we went to the clubhouse for the Ice Cream Social.  We grilled pork chops for dinner and had some of the pie we bought yesterday - excellent.  In the evening we watched some of the Beach Boys history show which I had recorded, will watch the rest later.  Also I talked to our daughters.

I favorite show in Branson, hope we get to attend this spring.

Exciting Saturday, not

We went into Bushnell in the morning for a few groceries including a pie.  We have been buying $4 pies from Winn Dixie, they are great pies - lots of fruit and good crust.  We got a blueberry pie this time.  Then we took home fish sandwiches from McDonald's.

In the evening we went the other direction to Ridge Manor and picked up Chinese for dinner.  Read and watched TV in the evening.  Exciting Saturday night.

Luncheon in Clermont

We went to Clermont for our Escapees (RV Club) chapter meeting/luncheon.  The food seems to be improving at Golden Corral or I am not expecting so much anymore.  Fewer people than normal there, lots heading north.  We had an enjoyable time.

Our motorhome was hot inside when we got home so we sat outside and read the papers and did some Sodakas.  It cooled down by 5 PM, we have been having warm days and cool nights - what more can we ask for?
