To Brooksville today!

Don helped put new gravel around the shuffle boards in the campground today and then we went to Brooksville to get hair cuts and run errands.  I needed more allergy meds which seem to be only available from Sam's Club.  I think it is the orange blossoms that bother me.  It has been hot and humid today, rained on and off again yesterday.

Day says "Nap"

We have a cold and rainy day going.  The kind of day all I want to do is take a nap and I did, it was so hard to get up.  We went out for breakfast and read the papers as usual.  There was no chance with the rain that we were going to grill dinner so I fixed spaghetti.  It ends up in one dish but takes so many to prepare, we had a ton of dishes to do.

Finished!

Don finished putting up the new blinds today.  The hall blinds were a problem but he finally got it solved.  The blinds look very nice and no more broken strings!  I finished getting the cupboards and drawers throughout the motorhome organized and cleaned - finally.

It was a hot and humid day, we finally had to turn on the air conditioner about noon.  It was too hot to fix dinner so we went to Cracker Barrow for their Friday fish.

Thursday

We went to Wildwood in the morning and then had lunch at Steak and Shake.  In the evening we had dinner at the clubhouse, we had pulled pork, slaw, corn on the cob, beans and cake.  Good dinner!   It has been a hot and humid day.  Watched "Company Man" DVD in the evening.

Tampa today

We went to Tampa today.  We had lunch at the ever favorite "Sweet Tomatoes", made a couple stops including Camping World and finally Parksdale Farms for some fresh vegetables.  I developed a bad headache and then a stomach ache, must have been some little bug as I felt better later.

What nice weather after yesterday!

It was cool today and much less humid. Plenty of sunshine!  We went to Brooksville for some wood Don needed to finally make the new hall shades work better.  We had salads for dinner at Chick-fil-a.

Usual Sunday

We went out for breakfast and then came home and read our two Sunday papers.  Grilled smoked pork chops for dinner and watched TV in the evening.  The weather was awful so staying home was the best idea for the day - it was hot and humid, rained enough to make it more humid and then the wind came up.  Finally the weather front passed through and it turned less humid but cold.  At least we had no sever weather which was forecast.  Talked to our daughters in the evening.

Chinese and Clooney

We had breakfast at the clubhouse and then worked around the motorhome.  In the evening we brought in Chinese from our favorite place and afterward watched the movie "Leatherheads" which was so-so but George Clooney was one of the actors.

Busy Friday

After after 10AM coffee at the clubhouse we went to Brooksville to send in for repair the car brake we use while towing the car behind the motorhome.  Then we had lunch at Paneras, I shopped Bealls and Bealls outlet - picked up a knit shirt.  We took at trunk load of things to donate to welfare.  Don stopped at Lowes and Home Depot (too bad, no Menards here).

At the Clubhouse again

It was our weekly dinner at the clubhouse, tonight we had Cajun Chicken breast with rice and beans, a salad and a good brown cake.  Lots of good visiting.  I had helped decorate the dinning room earlier in the day Mardi Gras style with masks and beads, etc.

Still celebrating Valentines Day

We went out for dinner at the Outback, had a good steak, shrimp and scallops meal.  We had the thing at the clubhouse yesterday so didn't get a chance to eat out then.

Valentines Day

We went out for breakfast and further celebrated by getting groceries.  In the evening we went to a party at the club house which was fun.  There were some cute skits, etc.  I didn't see any flowers in my house.

Don got all the new blinds up on Monday, now he has two that need some adjusting and he's procrastinating.

After a second cold night the weather has warmed up and will now be almost too hot.

Cold night

The temperature got down to the mid 20's last night, glad we brought my plant inside and covered the ones I put in the ground.  We went for breakfast at Cracker Barrow, they had their fireplace going - made us at least feel warm.  Don got another blind installed during the day.  We grilled steak, talked to our daughters and watched some TV.

Busy (for us) Saturday

Don had a table at the rummage sale in the club house.  They also had a pancake breakfast, I ate with a friend who will be gone for a month then took Don a breakfast.  I went home and continued my cleaning of cupboards and drawers  - it takes a long time, I still have plenty yet to get done.  Don sold about $30 worth of stuff.

Later in the afternoon we went to Brooksville for dinner at the Texas Road House, we got there what we thought was early but they were already busy.  We had to wait about 10 minutes but worth the wait as the food was good.  When we left people were lined up out the door.  Then we went to Kohl's, I got new bed sheets and a few other things.  Then is was home to watch the DVD "Larry Crowne" about a man that starts college as an adult.  It reminded me of when I went to school - like highlighting 90% of a page, making friends with the kids right out of high school and with the teachers as well.

More blinds installed

Don has half the new blinds installed now, the easy half.  They are different than the old ones but look nice, just take some time to get accustomed to them.  Meanwhile I cleaned out the drawers by the living room TV just so I'd also look busy!

We had dinner at the clubhouse which was followed by a performance by a very talented woman.  She could sing, play several instruments and tell jokes.  I'm not used to sitting that long so came home with a back ache, but I did enjoy the entertainment.

New blinds have arrived

We received by Fed Ex our new blinds today.  Don got one up just to see how big of job it will be and it went well.  We went into Bushnell to Beef O'Bradys for dinner and stopped for a few groceries.  Later we watched the DVD "Last Three Days" which was good, long.

Tropical Inversion

I cleaned the house today just to get the last bits of stuff put away.  It was hot and very humid but in the early evening we got some rain from the tropical inversion (beginnings of a hurricane)- very unusual for this time of year.  We got dinner grilled just before the rain started.  I am painfully tired.

Putting away the cruise

I spent most of the day washing and putting away all the stuff I had packed over a week ago for our cruise.  It is good to have it done and put away.  In the evening we watched some of the Super Bowl including the half time show with Madonna.  It has been a hot and humid day and appears to be the first of many hot and humid days to come.

Home again

I hate the last day hassles of getting off the ship, etc.  Today, however, was an exception - perhaps Princess Cruises has finally figured out how to get the job done efficiently.  From the time they called our group to disembark to the time we were on the interstate highway in our car was 40 minutes.  It was get scan our cruise card, go down stairs, go through Customs (very short line), go outside and get on the Park and Go bus which took us directly to our car.  We could hardly believe we were actually headed home without and problems.  We got to our motorhome about 2:30 after stopping at McDons for a quick bite and getting gas for the car.  Now I'm doing wash and more wash!  And I'm very tired, looking forward to my own bed tonight.

Princess Cays

This was a day at the Princess private Island.  We decided to stay on board, the ship was almost empty and so we could come and go without a ton of people in our way.  We walked around the ship and then ate lunch at the buffet and then took a nice nap.  Then we sat on our baloney and read.  As the ship was getting ready to move on the sea started to get choppy.  We had watermelon with feta cheese and pumpkin seeds for an appetizer.  Chilled pumpkin soup and steak then baked Alaska for dessert.  We are now packed and our big suitcases outside our door.  (Hope I didn’t send anything along that we will need tomorrow.)  We plan on going to a crew show this evening.

At sea

This was a day at sea, we were really moving for awhile!  After breakfast we went to the Culinary Demonstration with a chef and the Maitre d, the chief cooked three dishes with the “help” of the Maitre d.  They were quite the comic team.  Then we went to a big sale and I picked up some birthday gifts.  Following lunch (I had fish tacos) we retreated to our cabin for a nap.   Dinner was formal, we both had a seafood cocktail, mango soup and the main course was lobster and giant pawns.   The pawns were very good.  For dessert I had a chocolate soufflé.    We had to rush along as we had the Capitan’s Circle party to attend for people who have sailed Princess before – free drinks.  After that we saw an Impressionist perform, not too great.  Then we went to the song and dance show “British Invasion”, it was good but they damaged   a couple of my favorite songs.   We got back to the cabin about 11:30.

Our view of the day!

St. Thomas

The ship docked in St. Thomas today, we got off and did a little shopping – no buying.  It was just the usual stuff, couldn’t find anything interesting.  We came back to the ship for lunch – we had pizza and then a salad from the buffet.  After a nap we sat out on our balcony and read.  After dinner of onion soup and scallops we went to a “Mo Town” show.  I don’t know why they managed to call the show Mo Town as they had only a couple Mo Town numbers and then just general music.  The show was good however – song and dance.  After that show we went to a Comedy Magic Show which we really enjoyed.  It was midnight before we got to bed.
