Wood delivery

We got our delivery of wood from Home Depot right after 8 AM.  We thought we would probably have to wait all day for the delivery.  Don got started on the steps/deck.  He doesn't think he has made much progress but looks to me that a lot is done.

The cool weather is great for his job but I am getting very tired of being cold.  Hope it warms up soon.

Brooksville again

We went to Brooksville today.  First to breakfast at Panera and then to Target.  I don't get many Target opportunities as it is so far away from our Florida address.  Then to Home Depot where Don purchased the wood, etc. for our steps/deck.  Will be delivered tomorrow.

Monday at home

It rained all night, really hard at about 4:30 AM waking me up.  The rain hitting the roof is much more quiet in this trailer than the motorhome and in our bedroom very quiet as it has the loft over.  So today was extreme humidity.

We hung around the park all day, worked on the trailer.  I downloaded the book "Fire and Fury".  Interesting!

Rain, rain

We went to San Antonio (Florida) today for breakfast.  It is a good place, plenty of room when we arrived - a waiting line when we left.  It's about 30 miles away so don't go often.

It started raining in the afternoon as predicted.  A slow drizzle to a hard rain.  It got very dark but no storms.

I had a roast in the crock pot for dinner, it turned out good.  Rained hard all evening.

Eating

Don got up early and went to the clubhouse to help with the Saturday morning breakfast.  I got up when he left and did stuff around the house.  Decided not to go to breakfast but he brought me a breakfast omelet.  It was very good.

We went to Monticello's for dinner.  We usually have their very good pizza but decided to be different and have their eggplant parmesan with spaghetti.  It came with a salad and "bread knots", we brought some home, too much to eat.


I miss not going on a cruise this winter, maybe next??

Pickles

Cold again last night, getting tired of this.  Florida is suppose to be warm!

We went out to eat at Beef O'Brady's, had shrimp and fried pickles for an appetizer.  I love fried pickles but I think they upset my stomach as I didn't feel too good the rest of the evening.

Cold morning again

We woke up late to a cold morning.  The trailer heats up fast with the furnace especially the bathroom so it was nice and warm for a shower.  The sun came out later.  We worked around the place most of the day.

In the evening we went to dinner at the club house, was good.  It was chicken sliced with BQ sauce, pasta salad, etc.  and best of all Key Lime Pie.

McDonalds, Walmart

We went to McDonalds for breakfast today and then to Walmart for groceries.  McDonalds was wildly busy when we arrived but almost empty when we left.  Walmart was not busy - they way I like to shop.

It was a cool night but bright sun in the morning.  The trailer was cooler inside than out when we got home.  We stayed home the rest of the day and worked around the trailer some more.

Clean house!

Cleaned house today.  90% was just putting stuff away.  It didn't take long before Don's collection of stuff grew again.

It is hot and very humid today.  It cooled down some in the afternoon as a weather front came through.

I got my new air fryer in the mail and also a light we are trying out on our bathroom mirror.  I used the air fryer to fix some "cauliflower tots" which turned out good.  Not sure the light is going to work.

Rain or snow?

We went to Brooksville AGAIN today.  Went to Home Depot for a couple things including a 2 x 12 long board.  Don put the board into the trunk through the backseat (which bends down) and up to the front of the car.  He hit the front window and it cracked, not all the way through but a good size crack.  It will have to be replaced.  More insurance coverage.

It got up to 80 degrees with a nice breeze.  It rained later in the evening.  I have been watching the snow storm progress in Minnesota. I heard they got 14 inches of snow in our area of Minnesota. 

We went into Bushnell to Beef O'Bradys for their hamburger night.  The have good ones!

Sunday in Florida

Sunday breakfast at Steak and Shake.  They were short handed so it took awhile but was good.  Strange looking pancakes but they tasted fine.  Then we went to Walmart, returned some stuff and bought some stuff!

We went to the park's ice cream social this afternoon.  We don't get ice cream because it spoils our dinner.  We enjoy visiting.  It is finally warm enough that we don't have to wear sweaters!

Donuts and Chinese

Decided to take a break from working on the trailer and go for a donut and coffee at Dunkin Donuts.  It got down to 37 last night, but at least not freezing.  Cold this morning - no sun but the sun finally came out some and warmed things up.  Don worked on getting the sewer set up and I continued to arrange cupboards.

Finally the sewer on the washer is attached so I can catch up on laundry.  The new washing machine works well, same model as last one but seems to dry faster.

We brought home Chinese Food for dinner.

Happy Popcorn Day

Brooksville again this morning.  Needed to go to Lowe's for stuff, we saw our neighbors there!

It was cold again last night but think that it is going to stay above freezing for awhile now - hope for the rest of the winter.

We are still working on the trailer, lots of projects.

Cold night!

More work on the trailer, this is going to take some time!  There is finally some headway on starting the restoration work at our house in MN.  Hopefully this will be getting going soon.

We went to Bushnell for a few things in the morning and worked in the afternoon.  I got a couple cupboards rearranged.  Don got a new shower head installed and stuff outside done.

It was cold last night, our thermometer said 24 degrees when we got up this morning.

Working on the trailer

Off to Brooksville this morning for a bunch of stuff to work on the trailer.  Then we spent time doing just that.  I got the Dish Satellite connected and it worked first try.  That is a feat!  Good to have television again.  It is not connected the thru the trailer but thru a window.  When we get time we will change that.  We are working down our list of things that need to be done.

We drove the motorhome to General RV, a little over an hour away.  They met us at the entrance and led us to a parking place.  We went inside and were royally treated.  First a walk-thru of our new residence trailer, then paperwork and finally back to the motorhome where they parked the trailer so our doors were across from each other.  Then the work began.  What a job to move everything and a bigger job deciding where to put it all.  I thought we had plenty of storage room in the new trailer but it disappeared fast.  I finally got everything settled about 9 PM.

We were exhausted.

Moving the trailer

This morning we finished loading the trailer.  We both checked the motorhome for lingering items and found a few.  The man who would be moving the trailer to our lot came to see how we were doing and was ready to go when we were about 10:30.  We followed him to our campground and let him to our lot.  He did a great job of backing the trailer right where we wanted it parked and then leveled the trailer, really more than we expected.

This whole experience with General RV was great.  Everything could have not gone better.  We hear such different stories from the RV place down the road from them.

Waffle house today

We went to Waffle House for breakfast.  We got one of the last tables and then there was a waiting line.  Good as always.

It is still cold out but a bright sun heats up our motorhome so much we have to open a window!

We are still working to clean out of the motorhome what we can fit into the shed.

COLD

We went to Dunkin Donuts for a donut and coffee this morning.  It has turned cold (cold for Florida) so had a sweater and cape on.  We worked around the motorhome cleaning out some junk, etc.  In the evening we bought a pizza home for dinner.

It was a cold evening, ran the heat almost all the time to keep reasonably warm.

Humidity abounds

It could not be more humid today.  I washed sweaters yesterday, they were not 100% dry so I but them over the back of the driving chairs.  They were still not dry this morning.  It started raining about noon.

Don worked in the shed organizing it so we can get even more stuff in there.  It can see it as a place to park junk we don't know what to do with until we finally have to do a cleaning.

Froger

Back to Brooksville to get some more wood for the shelves in the shed.

Sheila and family are back on land after a cruise so talked to Sheila.  Sounds like they had fun but now they have to return to the cold of Minnesota.

I had a start when I went in our bathroom to take a shower this morning.  There was a monster FROG in the bathroom (about the size of a nickel).  I had to get Don to rescue me (or the frog).  He caught the frog and put him outside and all was well.

For the first time this season we went to dinner at the clubhouse.  It was good.  We have a new cook.

Shelves

Today we went to Brooksville, had breakfast at Panera and then made a Walmart stop for a few things.  Then we went to Lowes to get wood for shelving for our storage building.  Don had to drive carefully on the way home as the wood was hanging out of the trunk some.

It surprised us when we walked into Panera, it had been completely redecorated.  It is now an open floor plan, light wood - updated.  It had only been two months since we had been there.

It rained again this morning just enough to keep it good and humid!  Don worked on the shed shelving all afternoon, turns out we need some more wood.

New RV Trailer

It rained during the night until about 9AM this morning when the sun came out to make it humid.  Florida!

We went to "10:00 Coffee" for the first time since getting back.  Good to see people we hadn't seen for awhile.

We talked to the salesman at General RV who later called us back with a counter offer.  It was what we hoped for so gave a deposit on the trailer.  Will go there and change over next Monday.

Trailer shopping

We went to the Tampa area to look for trailers.  Found nothing at Lazy Days - suppose to be the biggest dealer in the U.S.  Then went to General RV and found one that may very well do but need to whittle down the price. 

We ate lunch at our favorite - Sweet Tomatoes.  Came back to Bushnell and looked to see what the local dealer had, not much.  Brought home hamburgers for dinner.

Eating and Shopping

We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, our waiter friend Raymond was working so we had a good visit with him.  Then to Walmart for a lot of groceries, more than I ever buy.  We were about down to Ritz crackers in the motorhome.  Also got a couple storage bins that we will use in our new shed and new underwear since I forgot to bring more than just enough for our trip.

In the afternoon the motorhome got nice and warm thanks to the sun.  It finally got to the mid 60's today and feels good, opened some windows!  Don washed the salt off our eekie dirty car.

We used some of our Walmart food to fix dinner.

Back in the motorhome!

Busy day getting more stuff unpacked and put away.  Also washed clothes.  In the afternoon we went north to look for a trailer.  We went two places and found nothing we like.  We ate lunch at Steak and Shake in Wildwood and stopped for a subway for dinner in Bushnell on our way home along with a quick run into a very busy Walmart.

It is warming up here, still have one more cold night to get through.  We kept warm last night thanks to our heater and electric blanket.

Motorhome here we are!

One more day on the road from Prattville, Alabama to our motorhome in Florida.  We got back about 4 PM with a ton of stuff to unload after we opened up the motorhome and got things started up.  Cool here in the 50's, people are complaining but feels good to us!

We had some can soup and toast for dinner, anything so we didn't have to get back on the roads.  The satellite TV wasn't working like before when we have been gone awhile.  After talking to a DISH technician for awhile we finally got back on.

Another day on the road

It was up at 5 AM again and on the road to Prattville, Alabama.  The roads were are good, some heavy traffic in places and of course in Nashville.  The temperature climbed to a balmy 34 degrees! Heat wave for us.  We shed our heavy jackets for the lighter ones, good feeling.

We checked into Country Inn in Prattville about 4:30 and then went out for dinner later, back to read the USA Today paper they gave us and watch a little TV.  We are tired but know we have yet another day on the road.

Go

We got up early and were ready for the motel breakfast at 6 AM, then went to the house to check the furnace one more time, it was doing fine.  We were on the road by 7 AM.

We ran into some icy roads around and in Rochester and on and off all day.  Mostly good roads.  Just before we got to Effingham we got into some light snow.  It never got above 14 degrees all day, mostly around zero.

Then we got gas in the car and ate dinner at Steak and Shake and checked in to Super 8 where we always stay when we are here.  Got a king size bed!  We are pooped after 10 hours on the road and not sleeping well last night.

Ready, set

Getting ready to abandon the house to the repair people and also packing to move south, busy day!  What a big job!

The repair man came and fixed the furnace in the morning.  Seems to work fine.  Good to have it back up and running.

We had a goodbye dinner with the family at Panera  and then went back tot he house to do some more stuff and get our things for the night - too dang cold to leave them in the car.  Then we went to a motel for the night.  We were so tired.


Who are these people?

1/1/2018

New Years Day but not a holiday for us as we are getting the house ready to be repaired and at the same time getting packed.  Don't want to wait until the last minute.  Our leaving now hinges on getting the furnace repaired.  We hate to leave it until we make sure it is working but can't wait forever.

Our house is staying warm despite the below zero temps.
