Breakfast and dinner out!

Don helped with breakfast again today.  Not too many people there but it was good.  We worked around home getting stuff taken care of before leaving.  Then we went for dinner at Coyote Rojo, a local (and very good) Mexican restaurant.

We don't have a cat, but we know this to be true:

Good Friday!

We went to Brooksville for bagels at Panera.  They were incredibly slow, said they were understaffed but from where we were sitting we could see into the kitchen.  Looked like they were just goofing off.  Then we dropped some stuff off at a charity and went to Aldi's for a very few groceries.

It is time to start eating up the stuff in our refrigator so we stayed home and had seafood.  I cooked it in my air-pot this time and it turned out better.

Last Dinner

Wow, another nice day.   We went to dinner at the clubhouse.  This will be the last dinner this season as many people are gone or are leaving including the workampers who prepare the meals.

Jambalaya!

Another nice day, got a little cool during the night.  Our new coffee pot works great, made very good coffee this morning.

We went to the Gulf of Mexico today.  It was a nice day and a good trip.  There were lots of people out.  We tried to find a seafood place we had eaten at before with friends but couldn't so we decided to turn around in a strip mall.  There was a seafood place called Cajun Jimmy Seafood Seller, so we decided to give it a try.  The first good sign was that even at 1 PM there was a waiting line!  The food was excellent, I had blackened Grouper and Jambalaya.  Don wasn't near as adventourious but liked his meal as well.  It might even be worth a trip back to eat there!

Oh no, coffee pot died

Our coffee pot refused to make coffee so we went to McDonalds for breakfast and then to Walmart to get a new coffee pot.  Also got a new little gas grill as well as a variety of other stuff and food.  Really ran the bill up!

Stayed home for the rest of the day.  Finally had to turn on the air conditioner in the late afternoon.

Just a Monday

We cleaned the house today, a good job to get done for the week.  Again it looked like rain, humid but not too hot.  It didn't rain all day until evening when we got a sprinkle.

For dinner we went to Beef O'Brady's for their Monday hamburger special.

Sunday in the Park

For breakfast we went to Cracker Barrel and then sat out on our deck to read the two Sunday papers we get.  Was a nice morning.  In the afternoon it looked like rain but never did rain.  We grilled pork chops for dinner and used the air fryer to fix sweet potato fries.

Omelets and fish

Don helped with the park breakfast, I went over for an good omelet.  Hopefully this was the last of our cold nights.  We went to Dade City for dinner at Captain D's.  A nice drive on the back roads!

Cold night

It was 37 degrees when we got up this morning, not an acceptable Florida temperature.   It did warm up nicely during the day, opened windows.

We went to Wildwood to Steak and Shake for dinner.  One daughter got home from New York and the other went to New York for a long weekend.  Their airplanes crossed.

Cool but nice day

It was a cool night again, seems we have several warm nights followed by several cool (cold) nights.  Otherwise it was a nice day, clear blue sky.

We went to the dinner at the clubhouse this evening.  It was rosemary chicken and new potatoes along with vegetables, garlic bread and a salad.  They had a very good dessert - it must have been made brown sugar. It was like a cross between cake and bars with cream cheese frosting.  The chicken not outstanding but OK.

Due caution

This morning we went to Brooksville first to have a bagel at Panera and then to get our hair cut.  We left Panera only to find that police had the entrance to the strip mall area where we wanted to go blocked off.  We went around the back to the other side and got to the hair place.  There we found out there was a suspicious package at the big department store at the end of the mall.  We were about done with the hair cuts when we were told that place was probably going to be closed.  They finished our hair and we left!

We stopped a couple other places and came back by where the road (3 lanes) had been partially blocked only to find it now had been totally blocked and the whole strip mall closed.  They have "strong leads" as to who left the package.  It was not a bomb.

It has turned out to be a nice day, cool and low humidity.

First day of SPRING!!!!

We woke up to rain on and off all morning.  A warm and humid day.  In the afternoon we had all sorts of storm warnings - there was thunder for a long time.  We got some rain but thankfully no bad weather.  It doesn't take much rain in Florida to make green the grass and trees.

We stayed home for dinner of sesame chicken.

Heat/AC/Heat/AC repeat

It rained on and off today.  We had the air conditioner on during the night - either the AC or the heat it seems.  I got the house cleaned, stuff put where it belongs.

We made a quick trip into Bushnell to get Home Zone which is suppose to prevent mold, bugs and varmets while we are gone this summer.  Only found a private person selling it and he was leaving as well.

Stayed home for dinner of Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwiches.  We had bought a big homegrown tomato at a farmers market.

Sunday in Flordia

Waffle House for breakfast.  We got there just in time again to get one of the last available booths.  It was good as usual.  I had grits rather than hash browns for a change.  Then a quick stop at a grocery store where they have super good pies and home to read the newspapers.

There was thick fog on our way to breakfast, was better when going home.  It stayed around awhile and finally lifted.  Then it got hot and humid.  We finally had to turn on the air conditioner.

We went to the Sunday 4:00 gathering at the clubhouse.  There were lots of people despite so many already who have left.  Talked to our daughters in the evening.

Happy St. Paddy's Day

Don helped with breakfast at the clubhouse like he usually does on Saturday mornings.  I caught up on my computer bookkeeping.   It was a little warmer last night and looks like it will be warming up now for awhile!

We went to Brooksville to Panera for dinner.

Even colder

It was even colder last night, got down to freezing.  We had a little low lying fog this morning.  At least there was bright sun to warm it up.

Don finished waxing the motorhome and put up some more shelves in the shed.  I got out my little computer and got it up to speed.

We went to Arby's for dinner - they had a Ruben special.

Cold night!

Really cold last night, down to freezing.  It took awhile to warm up the trailer.  Don washed the outside of the trailer and then waxed.  Something he wanted to do to protect the finish when we leave this summer.

Again I tried to figure out the Jensen electronic thing that came with the trailer, now I am thinking there is something wrong with the equipment.  It is built into our TV and audio system.

Dinner was at the clubhouse, corn beef and cabbage, which was very good.  Sat by some new people in the park that plan to be here awhile, they seemed like our kind of people!

More eating out

Breakfast at McDonalds.  I like their Sausage Mcgriddle!  Then to Walmart for groceries and other stuff.  Lots of other stuff.  It had been awhile for a Walmart trip.  Back to the RV Park, we put the refrigerator groceries away and went to coffee.  A new couple was there - a replacement for the "Know It All" that just left it seems.  Hope they don't stick around, dominate the entire conversation, dominating voices, etc.

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, good as always

It was a cool night again, hoping it warms up soon in Florida

Tampa and beyond

Today we went to Tampa mostly to eat at Sweet Tomatoes.  Then we went to Camping World and General RV.  We still have not gotten our trailer license plate so stopped at General RV to see why.  They supposedly reapplied for it, probably the first time.

It was a cold start to the day but warmed and was a sunny pleasant day all in all.

Rain and Sun

Went to coffee in the rain, raining harder when we come home.  It is the last day for one know-it-all couple (with loud voices).  Other people are leaving too, we will be among the last but it is still cold and snowy in Minnesota.

We cleaned the house and I did my weekly polish of the chrome refrigerator.  We ate leftovers for dinner.  The sun came out in the afternoon for a nice day, all in all.

The homemaking tip of the week!

Daylight Savings Time - adjusting

Back north to Wildwood this morning to Steak and Shake for breakfast.  As usual on a Sunday morning they didn't have enough help so were slow - OK I guess, when you expect to wait.  They have a good breakfast.

It was hard getting up at the new Daylight Savings Time - seemed like 6 AM which it would have been yesterday.  It was still dark outside to make matters worse but light be the time we were ready to leave.  I took a intense nap in the afternoon!  It will take me a few days to get accustomed to the time change.

We went to Winn Dixie grocery store after breakfast for some ham that is on sale and also bought Easter cookies and a blueberry pie!  Grilled some ham for dinner and talked to our daughters.

Saturday

Again Don got up a little early and went to the clubhouse to help with the park's breakfast.  Another cold night and more to come.  It warms up during the day - bright sun.

We brought home Chinese food for dinner.

Even though International Women's Day is over it's never over:

Wings and things

It got cold last night and was cold this morning but the sun was out in full force.  We went to coffee and then just did stuff around the trailer the rest of the day.

Then for dinner we went to Wildwood to Zaxbys (a chicken wings type place).  The food is always good there.

International Women's Day

We went to 10 AM coffee at the clubhouse.  Got into a "discussion" with some people about our park.  One person thinks he knows it all but is SO misinformed.  Some of us tried to tell him that he needs to check his sources but he is determined he is right.  Time will tell!

Don put foil insulation on a couple south windows - one in the loft and one in our bedroom - to help keep heat from the sun down.  He will do the high bathroom window when we are ready to leave.

Dinner was at the clubhouse.  They had a good ole southern meal:  chicken and dumplings and peach cobbler.  The cobbler was warm and with ice cream!  All was good.

Panera, Aldi and Kohl's

We went to Brooksville today for breakfast at Panera.  Then we went to Aldi's and Kohl's.  We bought some groceries and not much at Kohl's - not good enough sales for me.

Last night we had around 2 inches of rain which was really needed.  Things are green today including the "resurrection ferns".  These ferns grow on trees and look very dead when dry but a little rain makes them pop up and turn green for a couple days.  It was a cool and windy day today.  Leftovers for dinner.

Exciting day - not

Don changed oil in the car today while I went to 10 AM coffee.  It is another really nice day.

I made spaghetti for dinner and we watched TV.  Exciting day.

Goodbuy

More friends are leaving the park.  Will miss them and it will make me anxious to head north (which is not a good idea right now as Minnesota is getting a snowstorm today.)  We went to 10 AM coffee to say goodbye to a couple of friends.

We went to Beef O'Brady's for dinner and then a couple errands.

Could have been the neighborhood where I grew up!  I even had the fire engine car.

First Sunday in March

We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast.  Came home and read the newspapers on the deck.  It was a little cool out but I found some sun.  Again today I had a headache which went away at Cracker Barrel, maybe the clue is to go to a restaurant!

We grilled pork chops for dinner and had corn-on-the-cob from the farmers' market.

Chilling

Again this Saturday Don helped prepare the park breakfast at the clubhouse.  They had fewer people this week, may not do it much longer.  People are heading north, mostly the people from the mid U.S. states.  Too cold and snow in the north.

We stayed home all day, I fixed the seafood we had gotten.  It was kinda tough, will try a different way next time.

Cooler weather!

Nice day.  Cooler and the wind had died down.  We really need some rain even though I'd rather not have it rain.

We went to Panera for dinner, I was going to fix the seafood we bought yesterday but realized I had no seafood sauce or lemon.  Again today I had a mini migraine headache, when we went into Panera it disappeared and didn't come back.  Must have been the air conditioning.

Escapees lunch

Today was our monthly Escapees (RV Club) lunch in Clermont.  Most of the people there are from our park so that means we travel 40 miles to have lunch with our neighbors!  Afterwards we stopped at Aldi's where seafood was on sale.  I somehow managed to get a mini migraine, probably from all the flowers blooming and a wind to distribute the pollen  OR a weather front that is coming through.  Had some iced coffee when we got home and felt better.

We had a Subway sandwich for dinner.
