Rain gone, puppies gone, we will soon be gone

It rained early this morning, about 10 drops, after getting "warnings" of storms.  Then it turned hot and humid.  We went to breakfast at McDonalds and it was busy like last week.  There were a lot of families - spring breakers.  Then we went to Walmart for a few things and back to the campground in time for Coffee Time.

Our neighbors with the yappy puppies left today so we get a couple days of silence.  Hope their new neighbors at their new campground are as nice as we were not not complain.  I think they hear the yapping all the time so turn it out.  She would sometimes tell the puppies to be quiet, I'm sure they know what that means!

We went to our favorite Mexican place, Coyote Rojo, for dinner.  Good as always.  We picked up a Red Box DVD "Central Intelligence" with Dwayne Johnson! to watch in the evening.  Kind of silly but better than some movies.

Starting to say good-buy for the summer.

Another hot day!  We had a long coffee time at the Clubhouse.  So many people, including us, getting ready to head north.  I will not miss the barking dogs around us or the people that seem to want to invade our lot with their stuff - time to leave!

I microwaved some frozen orange chicken for dinner, it was better than I thought it would taste.

Panarea, Target, Kohls, Cici's, Arby's, Harbor Freight, and more

Hair cut day, wanted to get it done before we leave.  We went to Brooksville for breakfast at Panarea and they got hair cuts.  Afterward we went to Target and Kohls, it has been a long time since visits to either.

By this time it was late enough that it was lunch time, Don had been wanting to go to Cici's Pizza so that's where we went and then a stop for him at Harbor Freight (tools) and home.  We also picked up Gyros for dinner from Arby's.

It has been a hot day, near 90 and the sun was intense.  We left the windows open in the motorhome so it was a combined rush to get them shut and turn on the air conditioners.

Coffee and eggplant

Today there was a nice mix of people at coffee.  We had a good visit which lasted 30 minutes longer than usual.  We were all ERPU's at the campground - people that have leases, so we had a good going over of the campground.  Not everything we want to share with everyone.

Don worked on getting some things put away outside (prior to leaving).  I am in charge of the inside but wouldn't want to rush that!

We fixed eggplant for dinner, it was very good - a favorite meal of mine!

One last time *2

We were cleaning house and needed a break so went to coffee at the clubhouse, we were the only ones there!  Probably due to the fact that a lot of people have left and it is also Webster Flea Market day and people have to go one last time.

Later we had to go to Walmart so decided to eat at Beef O'Brady's as it is Hamburger Night.  Last week was going to be our "one last time" but we went anyway and then to Walmart.  There were not nearly the amount of people at Beef O'Brady's as usual, a lot have headed north.

Last Sunday at Sumter Oaks until Fall

We went to Steak and Shake for breakfast - one last time.  They were understaffed, we were waited on promptly and our food came quickly but when we tried to pay there was no one to take our money.  We waited and waited and were about to leave when someone finally appeared.

In the afternoon we read the two newspapers we get and went to the Ice Cream Social at the Clubhouse - on last time.  We actually had ice cream (Don had ice cream, I had sherbet.)

Grilled some pork chops for dinner and also had corn-on-the-cob.  Talked to Brenda in the evening.

Dunkin D, Cap. D and Solace

We went to Dunkin Donut this morning.  They didn't have my favorite donut go I got another kind which I did not like.  Then we went to Winn Dixie for a few groceries.  The traffic was unreal, perhaps because of all the Spring Breakers.  No fear all Breakers and Snow Birds will be gone in a week and they will miss us.  At least miss our money!

In the afternoon we had the air conditioner on, it got a couple days of rest.  We went to Captain D's for fish dinner - one last time.  We rented the DVD Solace with Anthony Hopkins so you know it was going to be a psychological thriller.

McDonalds, Walmart, Kings Wok

We ate breakfast at McDonalds.  I don't understand why some days McDonalds is practically empty and some days packed.  Today was a packed day, partly because the staff was as unorganized as any McDonald's I've seen so everyone was waiting for their food.  We wanted a second cup of coffee and finally gave up.  Cars were lined up around the building for the drive-up as well.

Then we went to Walmart.  Didn't need much - I needed popcorn, Don "needed" turnover rolls and a few other things.  He took a quart of oil to be recycled, they wanted him to sign in with all sorts of IDs so he turned around and threw it in the trash.

When we came back we went to the Clubhouse for coffee.

We got Chinese carry-out from our favorite Chinese place.  A one-last-time thing.

Fuzzy worms

Good group at coffee this morning, main item of discussion is the tree fuzzy worms that have infested the campground.  People have found a spray insecticide that works so we may have to give it a try.

We stayed home the rest of the day.  I microwaved some turkey for dinner along with leftover cabbage and potatoes.  It has been a nice coolish day, we have to enjoy the cooler days as the forecast is for 80 to 90 for the next week.

One Last Thing

Thinking of my daughter today as she undergoes surgery.  I should have flown home to be there for her.  We have changed our plans and moved up our timeline for getting to Minnesota, I am anxious to be home.

We went to Tampa to eat lunch at Sweet Tomatoes one last time until we return next Fall.  Doing a lot of  "one last time" things.  We also stopped at Parksdale Farms for fresh fruit and vegetables.  Had bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches for dinner.

First day of Spring!

After another cool night.  I started corned beef in the crock pot in the morning and added cabbage at noon.  I turned out good and now we have leftovers!

The weather in on the warming trend, warm today - had to turn on the Air conditioner in the afternoon.  Going to be warmer tomorrow.  Humid but no rain.

Just a Monday

House cleaning day as usual.  I took a break and went to the clubhouse coffee, there was only us and another man.  We had a good visit with him.  My friend Diane was cleaning the kitchen as we visited.

I got the house cleaned and towels in the washer before noon and before it got too warm.  We went into town for hamburgers on special on Monday's.  We got the last table.

Our friend Teddy took this picture of the campground "Swamp" and won an award!

Pecan Waffles!

Breakfast today at Waffle House.  It is always good, especially their Pecan waffles.  It really fills up fast on Sunday.  We about had a collision because of the intense sun in our eyes.  Came home to read our two papers and do some laundry.

Don grilled a ham slice on our new grill.  Later I talked to our daughters.

DD, Mex and movie

We went to Dunkin Donuts this morning, lots of people there including a group of wild kids.  The kid family did eat are leave which was good.  Then a family with 3 kids sat beside us but they were well behaved.  I heard them say they were on the way to Disney!

It was cool again last night but now is suppose to be warming up.  Next I will be complaining about the heat.  Everyone in the campground is complaining about some furry worms that are all over the place.  Seems there are fewer where we are, more by the "swamp".

We went to the local Mexican food place Coyote Rojo.  They have good, authentic Mexican and are not at all expensive.  Later we watched the movie we rented "Keeping Up with the Jones"  it was good, not great.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We went to McDonald's for breakfast.  It was a cold night again so cool when we went out.  We then went to Walmart for groceries, CVS Pharmacy and got gas in the car (it was not going much further without gas),  We got back a little late for morning coffee but went anyway, ended up staying late.

We had waffles and sausage for dinner, seemed like a good cold evening meal.

Cold and lasgonia

It was a cold night for Florida, it was 31 degrees outside when we got up this morning.  (58 degrees in western South Dakota for contrast!)  We ran the propane heater for awhile then the electric heaters.  Soon the sun was coming in the windows and kept the place warm.

The clubhouse coffee crowds are diminishing but still a good group this morning.  Someone brought Dunkin Donut donut holes, always a good treat!

We went to the clubhouse for dinner, the last Thursday night dinner until next Fall.  It was lasgonia which was good and plenty.  We brought some home for lunch tomorrow.

Early St. Pat's Day celebration

We went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and a donut this morning - haven't done that for a long time.  Then we went to Winn Dixie grocery store for the ad items.  Their new ad just came out today.

It was a cool night and a cool morning but the sun was bright.  The sun really helps heat up the motorhome.

In the evening we went to Cracker Barrow for their annual St. Patrick's Day meal of corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots.  It was good as usual but too much food as usual so we brought home some potatoes, carrots and biscuits.

I'm hooked already!

Happy Pi day! 3.14

It did really cool down, woke up to clouds, the sun came out mid morning.  A small group at the clubhouse this morning, a lot of people are heading north although the snow in the NE is delaying plans for some.

Rest of the day we stayed home.  I fixed chicken kiev for dinner.

Happy Pi day,

Monday Mop-day

It was clean the house day, did it early as the humidity was getting worse be the minute.  Getting up in the dark because of the time change is not something that thrills me.

We bought a pizza for dinner, it was really good - need to do that more often!

Something to look forward to:

Spring Ahead

We sat our clocks froward before we went to bed but it still seemed like we were getting up in the night.  I had trouble waking up.  Finally got some coffee at Cracker Barrel where we had breakfast.  We came home and read our two Sunday papers and did some stuff around the house.

Rain has been forecast all day but it is just as humid as possible.  We really need a good rain as there are a lot of forest fires around, maybe tomorrow.

We had the T-bone steak we bought yesterday, it was good!

I talked on the phone to our daughters later.

Saturday

Last breakfast at the Clubhouse.  Don helped as usual and brought home leftover bread and sausage.  It was a good breakfast - omelets, hash browns, sausage, toast.

We went to Wildwood for dinner and then came through Bushnell to pick up some stuff at Winn Dixie Groceries and CVS Pharmacy.  We also rented a movie Masterminds.  It is a comedy and kind of stupid but based on actual facts.

Clubhouse

Went to coffee this morning, was a long one with lots to talk about!  It was already warm out when I left.  It was back to the clubhouse in the evening for the weekly dinner.  Tonight it was ham, beans, corn bread, etc.

Brooksville and Survivor

Don spent part of the morning working on the car, changing oil filter etc.  He even washed the car which was badly needed.  I did some stuff around the house.  It is warming up here, we have a few days of warm temps. coming.

In the late afternoon we went to Brooksville and ate at the Texas Roadhouse.  We had a coupon for a free appetizer - we got fried pickles.  Then we had their Wednesday steak special and daiquiris!

Then we went to Sam's Club mostly for vitamins and finally Don went to Harbor Freight - one of his new favorite places.

Survivor begins their new season again tonight.  I've been waiting a long time.

Feeling better

We are finally feeling better today, still taking cold meds to help out.  We went to morning coffee at the clubhouse for the first time in awhile.  It was good to see people again and catch up on life in the park.  (Us women say the men share half-truths, most of them can't hear well so repeat what they have heard and then only half of that is heard.)

When we got home we ran the generator of the motorhome for awhile, we don't run it as often or as long as suppose to do but it started well and ran well.

We put the air conditioner on as it was already getting hot at noon.  We microwaved some frozen stuff for dinner and watched TV in the evining.

Another day of germs

We didn't go to coffee this morning, still too full of cold germs.  We did get the motorhome cleaned, not as good of job as normal but will do for a week.  At least the weather is pleasant.

This park usually has all retired people except for kids and grandkids that come to visit.  Yesterday two RV's pulled in with trailers behind.  The trailers are full of four-wheelers, which they unloaded all over the place.  The people are young and look to have set up camp for awhile.  I'm sure a lot of eyes are on them and will be watching for miss-behavior like driving the four-wheelers around the park.  So far go good.  I hope they know not to push the park rules!

More cold medicine

We went to Steak and Shake for breakfast as we had to get out anyway and buy more cold medicine.  I also got some frozen food that we can easily prepare while we are not feeling well.

Don is feeling worse today, I am feeling better finally.  Still best not to be around people and give them my germs.

We grilled some steak I had in the freezer, turned out to be better than I thought.

Saturday and colds

Can't believe how long this cold is hanging on.  I decided not to go to breakfast at the clubhouse this morning, no one wants my germs and I just don't have the energy.  Don helped with the breakfast and brought me home a good omelet.

Don is now coming down with the cold.  I hope he doesn't get as sick as me.  We didn't do much all day, rented the movie Allied in the evening and brought home Chinese.

We have some nice weather going,

3/3

More sleep, that's all I want to do with this cold that's taken over my brain and body.  I slept for a couple hours this morning, a couple more int the afternoon.  And I slept good for 7 hours last night thanks to the cold meds.

We had some things we had to pickup in Bushnell and got fish sandwiches and a Shamrock Malt at McDonalds.

Sleep

Last night I slept really good with the help from a new bottle of Nitequal.  It is the Escapees RV Club chapter lunch in Clermont today.  I sure didn't feel like going but Don wanted to go.  I have no appetite so didn't eat much but did have a slice of carrot cake.

Afterward Don had a couple places he wanted to go, I just stayed in the car and slept.  Slept all the way home and then took a nap.  If rest helps I am sure getting some.

We got a Subway for dinner and then I slept some more.

Cold continues

I am firmly in the grips of a cold and feel awful.  We planned on going to Brooksville today, for breakfast at Panera and some shopping so went ahead with plans.  I wore out after Sam's Club, Don went into Walmart for me for more cold medication.  I haven't had a cold in a couple years so forgot how awful they are to endure.  Took medication when we got home and slept for awhile.

Didn't feel like fixing any dinner so we got salads from Wendy's for dinner.
