Clean, more dust, clean, more dust, etc.

A stay at home day.  We cleaned the house, not that it won't be dusty in an hour or so.  We have the windows open and because it hasn't rained in awhile the roads are dusty.  That dust blows right in and makes it self at home on everything.

We had waffles for dinner with bacon and eggs.  I'm getting the amount of waffle mix down to where we get three waffles, need to decrease a bit more.

Sunday, food and allergies

Breakfast today was at Steak and Shake.  They have a good, reasonable priced breakfast.  We had trouble with the server the other day, but thought that was a fluke.  Not, today we had  a server who was in training.  Service was good enough, but slow.  Oh well, why are we in a hurry?

It was a nice day not too hot or cold, still a lot of allergens in the air.  We grilled steak for dinner and stayed home the rest of the day.  Got our two Sunday newspapers read.

Cool and Mexical

This is suppose to be our last cold day for the season according to the weather prognosticators.  One more cold night.  I am counting on that!

We went to McDonald's for breakfast and then to Winn Dixie for groceries they have on sale.  In the evening we went to a favorite Mexican restaurant, always good food priced reasonably.

The park is looking kind of empty right now, lots of RV's on the highway heading north.  Don't they know there is still more winter up north, this is just a winter rest time.

Steak and Shake

Another cool day but the sun warmed the motorhome well.  Had to open a couple windows.  We went to Steak and Shake at Wildwood for dinner.  Their usual conscientious servers were not.  At least our server.  Our burgers came all wrong, mine didn't have mayo and Don's didn't have onion or pickles like we requested.  We got our milk shakes but no spoons or straws.  We asked our server, Sarah, for the items - she didn't bring them.  In fact we saw her serving other people.  We asked again, none.  Finally I got the managers attention and we finally got our items.  I wasn't feeling well and wanted a take-home cup for my shake.  Again after asking our server and waiting Don finally had to go up to the counter and ask for one

I think I wasn't feeling well because of allergies. It came on all the sudden, I was hot, ears itched, eyes ruining, etc.  I got over it later in the evening.

We hope Steak and Shake gets their act together as we enjoy going there from time to time.

Cool and dinner

It has really cooled down, weather front cam thru the area.  I like the cool, just not cold.  We ate at the clubhouse this evening.  Not too many people there perhaps because of the menu.  The food was good, perhaps a bit too much starch.

We had grilled chicken which was grilled then in the oven for awhile.  It was very tender.  Also macaroni salad, beaked beans, corn on the cob, French bread and cake.  They had problems preparing the meal, the electricity went off when they were baking the cakes.  A pole was being replaced down the road.  Then someone was told to put chocolate on top of the cake, they put barbecue sauce on thinking it was chocolate!  They scraped it off, you couldn't taste the BQ sauce.

Survivor last night, this is shaping up to be a good season:

Tea

It was a warm night, had the air conditioner set all night.  We went to Bushnell for a "few" groceries.  We were going to eat breakfast at McDonald's but our area was in the middle of a storm warning so decided we should stay home for awhile.  It rained during the night off and on and again this morning.

The "few" groceries came to $42.  That did include some meat.  We ate lunch at McDonald's and just got home and the groceries inside before a major rain downpour.

I went to a Ladies' Tea at the clubhouse this afternoon.  I always hesitate to go to those kind of things, but I enjoyed it.  My little (purchased) oatmeal, chocolate, peanut butter cookies were a hit.  The best thing was small sandwiches with cream cheese and cucumber feeling.

Tampa, blue cheese and strawberrys

We went to Tampa today mainly to just get out of the park.  (Not that the park is bad, just needed some new scenery).  We ate at Sweet Tomatoes, went to Camping World and then to Parksdale Farms.

I know blue cheese dressing causes me to have sever stomach pains but thought maybe I could have blue cheese crumbles on my salad at Sweet Tomatoes.  I won't be eating blue cheese in any form anymore - and I love it.  I felt bad way into the evening.  Finally had some toast at 7 PM and that helped.

Don wanted us to have the famous strawberry sundaes at Parksdale Farms, I couldn't have eaten one but told him I would find a table and while he got one.  The line went around the building so he decided to just buy a quart of strawberry's and have his sundae at home.  We also bought a lot of fresh vegetables.

We had to turn on the air conditioning when we got home, a hot day!

Sunny Sunday

We ate breakfast at Waffle House.  They were full but the food came quickly.  Always a good breakfast if not too much food.

It was a warm, almost air conditioner day.  I seem to have a major case of allergies.  They said on TV that air born allergens were very high.  I had a sneezing session that seemed like it would never quit!

Brenda's birthday

We went to breakfast at the clubhouse today, stayed awhile and chatted with some friends.  We went to Brooksville in the evening for dinner at Panera.  We had Cobb Salads that had chicken, bacon and avocado in them.   Plenty of each!  Then a couple quick stops before coming home to watch some television.

Today is our daughter, Brenda's birthday!  Here she is with her dad.

Friday

An uneventful day - coffee at the clubhouse in the morning and reading, etc. the rest of the day.  We went for dinner at Cracker Barrow.  They have a Friday fish special that is good.  We went early and even then only a few tables available which quickly filled.  There was a waiting line when we left.  We eat often at Cracker Barrow and always have great service but tonight it seemed like the servers didn't have their act together.  People who came in after us got their meals while we sat.  Finally we asked one of the three servers who visited our table to check on our meals and then we got them, but not our biscuits.  After asking twice we finally got them.  Very unusual for this place----

We do windows

We tackled the big job of washing all the windows, inside and out, in our motorhome.  Also cleaned the screens.  This is the first time we have done this in this motorhome which sounds bad until you realize the motorhome is only 4 months old.  The windows were dirty outside and had a scum on the inside.  They look so nice now.  While we still had our vinegar and water solution I washed the inside of the car windows.  That needs to be done because the car windows get a heavy fog on them.

Don has sore arms and I have a very impressive bruise.  We'll recover!

Dinner was at the clubhouse this evening.  They had breaded port cutlets, mashed potatoes and gravy, beans, Cole slaw and cake with pineapple and coconut on top.  Could have left off the coconut---  otherwise dinner was very good.

Survivor Wednesday

Back into Bushnell for more groceries.  One store, Winn Dixie, has been having great specials.  One thing we like are their fruit pies.  They must use frozen fruit because it is firm, not mush.  The crust is great.

Then we picked up some vegetables from a local stand.  Followed by a stop at CVS.  Then for lunch we took home McDonald's fish sandwiches.

It has been another beautiful day, not too hot, not too cold.

Survivor started the new season tonight.  I know where I will be spending my Wednesday nights,

Trip for groceries and gas

The rain cleared and we had a nice day.  We went to Bushnell for breakfast at McDonald's and then shopping at Wal Mart.  Not too many people there, a good time of the day to shop.  We made a stop for car gas.  Our tank holds 17.5 gallons and we put in 17.6.  The low fuel warning light hadn't come on so we had at least a gallon left in the tank.  It was a Shell station so you would think this wouldn't happen.  One way they make their money being gas is so low.  Paid $1.59 gallon.

We stayed home the rest of the day.  Nice to have the windows open, no heat or air conditioner running!

Belated Valentines

After cleaning the inside of the motorhome in the morning and going to coffee at the clubhouse.  We went out for a belated Valentine's dinner at Outback Steakhouse.  We both had steak which was good.  A lot of people must have had the same idea as the place was full with a waiting line when we left.

The Interstate highway is still under construction and looks like it will be much longer.  A third lane in each direction is being added.  It makes driving in the heavy traffic exciting to say the least.  We saw on bad wreak where the car must have rolled end for end.  If anyone survived that it would be amazing.  Coming back the car in front of us suddenly slowed way down and made a left turn into the inside lane and stopped perpendicular to the roadway.  We got by OK, the truck behind us had problems and let them know with their horn!  What a dumb thing to do, they could have killed themselves and others.

A weather front come in later and we got some rain.  Some places in Florida got storms but not us.

Valentine's Day

We went for breakfast at Cracker Barrow.  Don had French Toast and I had Eggs in a Basket (bread).  There were a lot of people there as early as we went, I don't think the restaurant was prepared.  We had to wait awhile but had bought a newspaper so read some.

We have another beautiful day going, I hope we are beyond the cold and rain, for awhile at least.

Staying home for a steak dinner, will go out for a Valentines Day dinner tomorrow, places will be way too crowded today.

Valentines Eve day

Got up late and then went to McDonald's for breakfast.  Then to Winn Dixie for a couple things.  Don bought me at hyacinth plant fro Valentines Day.  It really smells nice!  He was going to get me roses like usual until I say this plant!

We brought in pizza for dinner, the new Primo style.  It was great, too spicy for Don of course.

How many does it take?

We went to  10 AM coffee in the clubhouse.  A friend needed help hanging pictures.  It took 5 men!

In the evening we went to Beef O'Brady's for dinner.  Had their fish and shrimp Friday special for the first time - it was good.

Valentine Dinner at Clubhouse

It was a Valentines Day dinner at the clubhouse this evening.  They went all out with the decorations and food.  There was a big crowd of 110!  And a little entertainment----

More Cold

We went to Bushnell for a "few" groceries today.  Had hamburgers at McDonald's.  Don spent the afternoon working on income taxes on the computer and I read.  We are such exciting people.

Tonight it is forecast to freeze so we have to bring in the plants and put water in our fresh water tank (the hose freezes and we can't get water otherwise).

Wind

A stay at home day.  It has been cold and a strong wind makes it worse.  We had waffles with eggs and bacon for dinner, seems like a good cold day meal.  Hope it warms up soon to average Florida temperatures.

Quick trip

We made an unexpected trip to Brooksville today for some tool Don needed.  We ate dinner at the always good Panera.  It was a cool day after a cold night.  It got colder than predicted, down to freezing.  We are expecting a cooler than normal week and with wind.

Super Bowl Sunday

Turns out the Denver Broncos won the Superbowl.  I'm not a sports fan but still glad a mid-west team won.  The commercials were interesting and the half time show was mostly good.  They seemed to have a problem with the sound...

The only other thing we did today was go for breakfast at Steak and Shake in Wildwood.  They have a good breakfast.

Rain Rain

It rained most of the day and to make matters worse, it was cold.  We struggled to keep the motorhome warm without getting the sunshine coming through the windows.

We went to breakfast at the clubhouse this morning and this evening we went to Chili's in Brooksville for dinner.  It is a new place and so was packed with a waiting line and full parking lot.  We were lucky and found a good parking spot the second trip around the building.  The hostess told us it would be 10 to 15 minutes, then we realized she was telling everyone the same amount of time.  We waited about 20 minutes.  Service was prompt, we got our fried pickle appetizer right away but had to wait awhile for our barbecued ribs.  All was good, we weren't in a hurry.  Then we had to drive home in the dark and heavy rain.

Cupboards are full!

We went to Bushnell for more groceries.  We keep buying groceries but then don't eat at home.  Good thing we have the huge refrigerator and cupboard space!  We got another one of the store's good cherry-rhubarb pies.

Otherwise we stayed home.  We got BQ pulled pork sandwiches and fried potatoes for dinner from what the park prepares for the Friday night jam session (which we don't attend).  Then we watched the end of the show about Bernie Madoff.

Clermont

We went to the Escapees (RV club) luncheon in Clermont today.  Not so many people there for some reason, perhaps because major rain was forecast.  It didn't start raining until about 4 PM and we were home by then  It is always good to see people we don't often see in the campground.

Afterward we went to K Mart.  Don was hoping he could find some jean shorts but had no luck.  I found a pair of denim capries.

Eating and groceries

We went into Bushnell for breakfast and groceries.  I like to shop early before all the "old" people get to the store and block the aisles.

Don made his famous eggplant dinner, good as always.

I make a grocery list even if I have 3 things to get or else I come home with two of the three and a bunch of other stuff:

Ground Hog Day

A rare nice day today.  We went to Brooksville/Spring Hill today.  We got hair cuts and did a little shopping.  Ate at a pizza buffet for lunch.

I finally got a good hair cut, the last two people cut my hair way too short even though I told them what I wanted.  Don't know why some beauticians want to chop, chop, chop.

When we came home we had to turn on the air conditioner as the motorhome was 87 degrees inside, it ran the rest of the day.

February 1

I cleaned the inside of the motorhome, meanwhile Don washed the passenger outside.  (He washed and waxed the driver side last week.)  We did some other stuff around the motorhome and were tired in the evening so went into Bushnell to Beef O'Brady's for their hamburger Monday night special.  The know how to do hamburgers!
