Bagels, groceries and dinner = food

Today we went to Brooksville to Panera for bagels and then to Aldi and Publix for groceries.  Nice, but humid day.  We turned on the air conditioner in the afternoon.

Don worked on income taxes in the afternoon while I read a book.  We went to dinner at the clubhouse, good as usual.

Quiet day

A very humid day, put on the air conditioner about 2 PM even though it was not too hot.  We went to 10 AM coffee today followed by a presentation from a medical person about how to identify strokes and what to do.  Was interesting, but drug on.  He brought donuts which helped!

We ate dinner at  home and watched some TV.

St. Martin

Boat beside our ship, notice fuel truck on bottom left to get idea of side of the ship.

Getting stuff done

The laundry is finally all done and put away.  I am feeling better today, rested!  After beautiful weather yesterday, we have clouds and humidity today.  It rained most of the late afternoon and evening.  We got the house put back together so now we can relax, rest up from vacation!

Ship to home

Hurry up and wait was the name of the game this morning as we prepared to disembark.   We stuffed our carry on, could hardly zip.  Then went to the international cafe for pastry and latte.

We went to ask when our assigned group was leaving and were told to just go ahead.  Then luggage claim, our suitcases were together so no problem.   Then through customs and to the mini bus to our car.  We were dropped off right at the car, put in the suitcases, set the GPS and were on the interstate highway in minutes.

We had a good trip home, trailer was in good shape.  The only negative is we have a TON of  laundry.  We went to town for a few groceries and picked up sandwiches for dinner.

Saturday

This is our last full day on the ship, but no sleeping in for me.  We went to breakfast followed by our daily latte trip.  Then we went back to our cabin to sit on our balcony and read.
Lunch time, I wasn't hungry but managed to eat a salad and 3/4 of a club sandwich

Finally I got to take a nap and then had to pack.  We sat at dinner with some people from the Philippines .  Their English  was good, they said there are 28 dialects in the Philippines , but the language they use to converse with a person with another dialect is English .  They also told us that the lighter skin and the heavier woman are, the higher class.  There are places that bleach skin
(Opposite than our tanning booths!)  They carry umbrellas to keep out of the sun.
I had watermelon with mozzarella chunks, a salad with grilled vegetables and salmon.  Baked Alaska for dessert.
Then we "hightailed" to the theater to get our favorite seats.  The same comedian from the other day was there.  I think he was even more funny.
Went back to our cabin and finished packing and put the suitcases, except for the carry on, outside our door for pickup.  Then we watched the movie Black Klansman.

Day on board

The ship is heading back to Ft. Lauderdale,  two day trip.  The sea is a bit rough so put on a motion sickness patch.  I had a frittata for breakfast.   It came with grits.   Also had a pineapple bowl.  Don had salmon and bagel and a melon  plate.  Then we went down a level for lattes.

We sat by the pool for awhile before going to lunch.  I had gispatcho and chef's salad.  Then it was definitely nap time!  After nap we say on our balcony and read before it was time to get dressed for formal night.  This was the Cruise Circle party night.  We had a rum punch and a couple appetizers then went to dinner.   I had shrimp cocktail and a excellent goat cheese and apple cold soup.  Then lobster for dinner and Princess Chocolate for dessert.

We decided to see if we could get last minute seats for a musical show.  Were surprised to find a couple.  Show was good, not great, singing and dancing.
Then we went to our cabin and quick changed into our casual  clothes  and went to the movie on the top deck.  Bohemian Rhapsody was showing and I have wanted to watch.
We finally got to bed after midnight!

Thursday cruising

We got coffee ASAP, then breakfast.  I had poached eggs on toast with corn beef hash, baked beans.  Also a fruit bowl.  Don has a mild upset stomach so being careful what he eats.

The ship is docked at St. Martin, there was an enormous yacht docked next door!  We stayed on board,  spent time around the pool.  Had lunch at the buffet.   Then a nap.

Sat on our deck and read awhile before going to dinner.  Dinner we had scallops among other things.  And went to hear a soloist.   He was not great, glad when it was over.  We went to our cabin and watched "The Wife".

Wednesday on the cruise

We had a "breakfast steak" along with eggs and hash browns for breakfast.   Also had a bowl of fruit cut small.

Then to the international cafe for our daily lattes and pastry.

The ship is docked at St. Thomas but we have been there many times so stayed on the ship.  We sat on the balcony until I felt my skin burning.  For lunch we got salads from the buffet and hamburgers from the grill and sat outside on the top deck, in the shade, to eat.
We just trucked around the ship in the afternoon,  took a nap,  then sat out on our balcony which was by this time in the shade.
Tonight was special dinner at the Crown Grill.  I had a lobster cake and spinach salad.  Then filet mignon with Asparagus and mushrooms.  Finally a dessert  of chocolate mousse, lemon wedge, chocolate on chocolate something and a mock s'more.
Afterwards we listened some music and to the late comedy show.   The comedian was very funny.  Proof that a comedian doesn't have to be gross to be funny.

Cruising

Breakfast  in the dinning room.  Our waiter was had very limited  English skills.  We ended up with one order of salmon and cream cheese and one fruit plate .  We shared these.  Don had a ham and cheese omelet (no ham) and bacon.  I had a veggie omelet complete with jalapeno peppers (ok as I like jalapenos) and a potato triangle.  They were able to supply me with salsa!
We did a little looking in the stores and then had lattes and a cream cheese filled puff roll.  We sat on our deck awhile.
For lunch I had split pea soup and red snapper fish with pear turnover for dessert.   Don had a chief salad and the soup and turnover.  After lunch we went to the top deck and sat awhile, had ice tea.  Then nap time.
Later we had a glass of wine before getting dressed for formal night.
For dinner  onion soup, salad and shrimp on vegetables.   Dessert I had a chocolate dessert that was something else, chocolate on chocolate.  We wen to another song and dance show and then listened to a musical group in the center area.

Monday on the ship

We overslept.   Had to rush to get to the dining room before they closed for breakfast!  We had blueberry pancakes,  bacon and fruit plate.  The coffee was excellent,  used to  be the dining room coffee was not at all good.  We had lattes and white chocolate muffins later.
This is the private island day, since one has to take a tender we decidedly to stay on ship.  So we looked around the place.  We went on the "sea walk" where a walkway juts out over the ocean.  Went for pizza for lunch.  Don had boring pepperoni but I had artichoke and black olive, good.  Then as full as I was, I had tiramisu for dessert.
We took a nap in the afternoon,  still tired from yesterday.   Then we went to the top deck for awhile.
For dinner I had for an appetizer eggplant parmesan and cold peach soup.  Main course I had scallops and shrimp on a bed of seasoned vegetables.   Very good!  Cheesecake for dessert,  it was good but I was too full to enjoy.
We enjoyed Beatlemania in the theater.   Then listened to a band in the atrium for awhile before heading "home".

Boarding the Regal Princess Cruise

We got up at 5 AM today to get ourselves and the trailer ready to leave.  We left about 7 AM and got to Fort Lauderdale about noon.  Left the car at a lot for cruisers and got to our cabin by 1PM.
The new Madialion certainly got us on the ship fast.  We zipped right through the process.
We had delicious prime rib for dinner.  I had a Cuban shrimp appetizer and cold pina calota soup.  Hot Chocolate souffle for dessert.
After dinner we went to a song and dance show which was good.  The worst thing about the first day on a ship is no one knows where they are going including us!
Needless to say we are tired.
(Sorry I can't post pictures on this blog from my phone. )  I will post many later.

Ready, set, -----

Finished packing all but the last minute things.  Sure seems like it takes a lot of stuff.  I just hope we will be able to get it all packed back in our suitcases at the end of the cruise!

At least we have  a nice breeze coming through the place to keep things cool!  We went into town to get sandwiches for dinner and top off the gas tank in our car.

Packing

We went to coffee today and then came home to pack.  I should say for me to pack.  It takes a lot of stuff for a cruise!  It was hot in our" bedroom where I was packing.  I cut my wrist three times on a sharp place on a drawer latch.  But I got all the clothing packed, still have the "stuff" to pack.

We brought home Chinese food for dinner.

Happy Valentines Day!

We went for breakfast at McDonalds, had our usual and also had their new "donut sticks" which were good.  Then to Walmart for one last time to pick up stuff for our cruise, got gas as the car was begging to be fed.  Then to the post office and home in time to go to 10:00 coffee.  One woman was so disgusted at the pro-Trump people she was about to scream.  We talked it out!

It got down to 37 degrees last night but a nice, sunny day today.

We had dinner at the clubhouse, they really went all out for Valentines Day.  The food was good and plenty.  It is also the anniversary of our engagement - 55 years!

Car and Sweet Potatoes

Don took the car to get the oil changed, first time.  I stayed home and spent most of the time on the computer catching up on stuff.

It is one of those dark and rainy days.  Hope the rest of the week is better!

We went to Texas Road House for a pre-Valentines Day dinner, thinking we would beat the crowds.  We called ahead and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated.  We got our salads right away then waited about 45 minutes for our dinner.  Finally our steaks and shrimp arrived, we were told our sweet potatoes would arrive in a few minutes.  We finished our meal and still no sweet potatoes, our server finally stopped by to see if "everything was OK" .  We said "no sweet potatoes yet and now that we are finished eating we don't want them, give us credit on our bill".  She had to get the manager who came to our table to tell us the sweet potatoes would arrive in about 10 minutes, at this point we had been there over an hour and anxious to leave as the place was packed and noisy.  She finally agreed to give us each $3 credit and then gave us two $10 coupons for our next visit - if there is one.

Meanwhile back home:

Hair and Shoes

We went to Brooksville, again.  We got hair cuts and got Don some new shoes.  (I gave him a warning that he was not going to wear his old and only pair of canvas shoes on our upcoming cruise.) Got a few groceries.  We had breakfast coffee and bagels at Panera.

I have cellulitis again, this is the around the 8th time.  I have leftover meds from the last time so hope that is enough to get rid of the rash.  One thing that helps is to keep the leg up so walking so much today didn't help.

Serenity is still missing.  Just don't know what to think!

Monday again

Sun is finally out and it got hot and humid.  We got the house cleaned and 3 loads of laundry done in my little washer/dryer combo.
Serenity is still missing.  So hard on her family.

Sunday in the rain

Mostly a rain out day.  Gets tiresome being stuck inside.  We went out for breakfast, came home and read the newspapers as usual.  Then didn't do much.  We watched some of the Grammy awards in the evening.  I like Alicia Keys and Lady GaGa.

No sign of Serenity after two days of intense searching.

Day 6

Still no evidence of where Serenity is at.  Lots of negative posts on Facebook - they don't realize, I guess that this is a real family that is hurting and all they need is prayers.  It is not a TV soap opera.

We had a beautiful day, sun and warm.  We sat outside to read in the afternoon.  In the evening we went to Brooksville for dinner.

Day 5

Serenity still missing, weather is too awful to search.  Family is mentally tied in knots.

We went to Escapees Luncheon in Clermont.  As always good to see friends that no longer are in our park.  We usually do something else in the area but just came home.

It got hot in the afternoon, too hot to be inside even with windows open so we sat on the deck to read.  Cooled down in the evening.

There was a candlelight vigil for Serenity tonight, this is my light ----

Day4

Serenity is still missing, day 4, not a lot of hope.  It is bellow zero temperatures in the area.

It is really nice here, good to see the sun and not have to wear sweaters!  Don power washed our shed to get the mold off.

I fixed Tuna Casserole for dinner, one of my favorites - not true for Don!

Day 3, Serenity still missing

Pray for safe return:

ROCKERVILLE, S.D. (KOTA TV) - More than 100 people, some with dogs, continue for the third day to search for a 9-year-old girl who ran away from the Children’s Home Society near Rockerville.
Tuesday’s search is centering on the general area of the children’s home, within a one-mile radius.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office is also requesting that anyone with a game camera in the area take a look at the video and let them know if they see anything related to the missing girl.
In searching for Serenity Dennard, deputies have gone door-to-door speaking with neighbors, as well as looking in outbuildings, log piles; hay bales … anywhere a child might hide or take refuge from the dangerously cold weather. The Civil Air Patrol is also involved in the search.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the public helped find a couple that saw Dennard Sunday. Investigators now have a better-defined timeline of events. Dennard was last seen about 10:45 a.m. Sunday when she left the children’s home.
Dennard is a Caucasian female, 4 foot 9 inches, 90-100 pounds, with blue eyes and shoulder length dark blonde hair. She was last seen wearing only a long-sleeved grey shirt with flowers, blue jeans and snow boots. She was not dressed for the cold weather.

Missing

Our great-niece is missing in the South Dakota Black Hills.  We are very concerned, the weather is freezing and many obstacles to her safety.  She has been gone over 24 hours.

San Antonio

Today we went to San Antonio (Florida) breakfast.  We just beat the crowd!  The kitchen was on the slow side so when we left lots of people were waiting.  It was foggy out but cleared in the afternoon, still very humid.  We had to read our Sunday newspapers inside or they would have collapsed from humidity in our hands.

We had T Bone steak for dinner, was on sale this week.  Then watched the Super Bowl, at least the commercials and the half time show.

Saturday, February 2, 2019

Dunkin, Dixie and D's

It's Saturday so it must be Dunkin Donuts.  Then Winn Dixie for a few groceries, T Bone steak was on sale so that's what we'll grill tomorrow!

It is warm out but cloudy and very humid. We went to Captain D's for dinner, while there it rained like crazy but mostly quit before we left.

February 1, 2019

It feels so good to have the windows open and not to have to wear sweaters!  We went to coffee, had been a couple days so had to do catch-up on the happenings.  Nothing exciting however.

We went to Wildwood for dinner at Steak N Shake.  They have good hamburgers!

Warming trend!!!

We went to Brooksville today.  Had bagels at Panera and then went to Aldi's for a few groceries, then Target for a couple things I couldn't find at Walmart and to CVS Pharmacy for their sales.  We stopped by McDonalds for lunch on the way home.

I am so excited - we got our "Medallions" for our cruise.  They are electronic discs and about the size of a quarter.  They take the place of an electronic card and suppose to do even more like when we go to the ship we can just walk right on without all the paperwork and lines.  They hook up with an app on my phone.

We ate dinner at the clubhouse, good except for the banana pudding.

It got up to 60 degrees today, still felt cold.  Warming trend now.

Our Medallions for the cruise:
